No guide is necessary. River is full of just enough rocks to make you feel like you are on an adventure. There’s not any time that you are plunging down rapids but there are loads of spots that are bouncy and fun. Eventful river tubing experience for us due to one elderly guest who attempted to control her ride by paddling to sides, away from the current. This caused her to get stuck on rocks and in tree branches on multiple occasions. Finally she lost her tube and stranded herself and another guest who attempted to assist her. This is when the company owner and other employees really stepped up and went into action to get them back safely. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this excursion. Very enjoyable if you “go with the flow” but if you must be in control then you would be better off riding the river adventure at Dollywood! Lots of turtles, birds and beautiful scenery.
This company recently relocated their office and their restrooms are in the process of being renovated so I suggest you stop at one of the many nearby fast food restaurants.
Our group included 4 over 60 years, one 20 year old and one 15 year old and we all enjoyed it. Well except for one!
