Awesome little find. Fishing was great they seem to liked red worms best. Harold had the Hot tub turned on when we got there. Can't wait to go back

“The Reviews Don't Lie!”

My wife and I were in desperate need of a long weekend together unplugged from the world. We found Limestone Cabin here on TripAdvisor and it looked like the perfect getaway from it all.

We were in disbelief reading the reviews for this place. Surely, it couldn't be as great as everyone else says.

Rest assured, it is everything we expected and more. Complete and total isolation was the order of the weekend in this charming, lovingly restored/rebuilt cabin. We literally didn't see another soul for the first 2 days we were there. We did have some cell reception at the cabin (Verizon), but only calls and texts, which was just fine with us.

I could write an equally glowing review of this cabin, but I won't bore you by repeating everything everyone else has already said. It's clean, well-appointed and completely isolated. It was exactly what we were looking for. We struggled (and failed) to find anything to complain about. It's that good.

If you want to get away from it all (literally), this is the place for you. We're already planning our next trip to Limestone Cabin - next time for a full week!

“Cabin in the Woods- Walden-esque and romanitc”
Reviewed 28 February 2017 for a stay in December 2016

My sweetie and I spent our anniversary in this beautiful rental cabin during a 2016 December weekend. The cabin is a work of art! The owners keep it immaculately clean, with fresh linens and towels to spare, and a welcoming fire to greet you when you arrive. We were positively enchanted not just by the cabin itself but by all the surrounding scenery- and the small town of Hot Springs that the cabin resides in. The small town charm l is ever-present- wi-fi will likely be almost impossible to find, be forewarned- but if you take in all the scenery and simply enjoy yourself, you won't regret it. There are lots of great places to eat and hike. Multiple horseback-riding and water-rafting guides can be found within a twenty-minute drive from the cabin. A better escape from suburbia or the hustle and bustle of downtown could not be imagined. Thanks so much to the owners for creating such an enchanting getaway.

We decided to visit this beautiful, historic cabin as a last minute Thanksgiving getaway. He is in the military, so it is hard to plan far in advance. It was better than imagined. Immediately, after walking through the beautiful, large entry door, we instantly were home and knew we were not going to want to leave. The cabin was immaculately clean and had every pot, pan and dish to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It was extremely secluded and peaceful. We were both finally able to complete the books we had been reading "A Walk In the Woods" (ironically about the Appalachian Trail). The fire pit provided us with a warm cozy scene as we soaked in the hot tub and the fireplace invited us with hours of conversation. I think we may have turned the TV on once. The train came by 3 or 4 times a day, which unexpectedly, was a soothing addition, probably one of our favorite features of the cabin. The views of the French Broad and the Mountains surrounding were unobstructed. We met Mrs. Sadie the last day we were there and she was as charming and as kind, as the cabin was. We definitely will be coming back, and will recommend this to all of our friends and family. Thank you, for such an accommodating stay.

This is a perfect cabin and location for a getaway. The cabin itself was so beautiful and it was in a great location. Very private, quiet, perfect...
The owners even left us a birthday card and cookies, which was so thoughtful.
My husband was excited to fish in the 3rd oldest river in the world, which is located right out your front door! After fishing, enjoy steaks off the grill and then relax in the hot tub and then curl up by the fireplace and watch a movie.
We were very surprised by the train and thought it to be very romantic. Not something you experience every day and I loved it! We put a few coins on the rail and took them home as souveniers :)
We look forward to staying at the Limestone again. Thank you Harold and Sadie.
