This hotel gives you exactly what you would expect from a Marriott. It was clean and comfortable with a very friendly staff. Don't forget to ask for extras if needed. We were given extras feather pillows, extras blankets, a shaving kit, and extra Paul Mitchell shampoo when we requested it. The staff made sure that we were comfortable.

What a nice hotel! We needed a place to stay near the Outer Banks that would be a short drive and allow us to check in to our beach rental as soon as possible. We decided to stay in Elizabeth City, which was about an hour drive to our destination. We arrived late and left early, but still had plenty of time to appreciate the lodgings. When we arrived, we found plenty of free parking. The desk clerk working was very friendly and understood that we were tired from driving all day from NY to NC, so he got us checked in quickly and efficiently. The rooms were clean and the beds and bedding were comfortable. The pool is near the elevator and looked clean and nice, but we didn't have time to use it. We fell asleep shortly after our arrival, and woke up in the morning to a nice breakfast buffet - free with the room. They offered make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, juice, yogurt, and coffee. There was a power outtage in the morning of our stay due to a nearby emergency, but the hotel staff was still very efficient, kind and courteous and never used it as an excuse to panic. I definitely plan to use this hotel next time we are on our way to the OBX!
Thank you immensely, for we were weary and ready to rest!

The Fairfield Inn while close to shopping needs and restaraunts in town had a power outage which affected our stay. The hotel complementary breakfast bar is large but on a busy day seats are limited. The power outage happened which shut off air conditioning and lights, there seemed to be limited emergency lighting working for all the guests staying at the hotel.

We came in to Elizabeth City to visit family in a local nursing home. We compared reviews and prices and decided on the Fairfield. It was a good decision. It's location, while slightly off the main road, was better than anything else we saw during our visit. The rooms are indeed comfortable and very clean. Staff were friendly--especially the breakfast lady! Breakfast was better than what one usually expects. We stayed an extra night with no problems. Nothing to really complain about. FYI, if you love mexican try 3 Amigos (within walking distance) for an excellent restaurant!

When you go to check in and the hotel staff are as pleasant and helpful as the folks at this hotel you know you are going to enjoy the stay. I am in a wheelchair and someone at the front desk and the maintenance man carried my stuff from the car to the room and when I checked out carried it back. The room uses proximity keys which is very helpful for those with crippled hands. The room was ADA accessible and quiet and nice.
