We have been coming to the outer banks for years and this is the least maintained property we have stayed in.
Upon arrival, there were about four broke chairs and a broken table, with the broken pieces and exposed screws on the ground. Also, the sewage cover was off in the back yard...disgusting!! When I said something about the chairs, they were removed. I never should have had to say something though.
The vent in the kitchen is very dirty and looks like it hasn't been cleaned all summer. There is dirt/mold in the showers/tub of numerous bathrooms. Food stains throughout the kitchen walls and cabinets.
The yard and pool area is very overgrown and there is trash scattered throughout the property. The cushions by the pool were absolutely disgusting; stained with huge tears. The owner wouldn't replace these, so the management company just took them away.
Kitchen cabinets are falling apart, one of the refrigerators is rusty and falling apart, there is a chair with a huge hole in it, the upstairs master bedroom is being held up by a stack of books.
Wear and tear is normal and 100% expected. We feel the issues in this home are above normal wear and tear though. We don't feel we got what we paid for in this home, and would never stay here again.
This house had everything we wanted for our family's summer vacation. The room accommodation were great. We had five couples and eight kids. The elevator was a nice bonus. Unfortunately, the house was beaten up and not maintained well. The outside grounds were full of weeds especially around the pool, and the gazebo roof was damaged and consisted of a plastic blue tarp. The volleyball court was unusable because it was so over grown. This was very disappointing. The inside of the house had issues, too. None of the three refrigerates made ice. We called the property manager twice (they were very nice) fixed the ice issue. The theater room had a broken chair that couldn't be fixed. The oven was new but all the other appliances were dated. The wi-fi was spotty at best. I could go on but you get the idea that the property had all the features to be a great place but it was run down and needed a lot of TLC. Needless to say we would never go back.
