The main reasons I came here was to see the wild horses. Really important...take note...THIS is the official organization that cares for the horses when they need help. Other horse tours may tell you that they give part of their income to care for the horses- but it is a lie! I had this happen to me, but as a teacher, I could tell the guy was lying when I asked him over the phone if they were the group that donated their proceeds for the care of horses (teachers know when folks are lying...remember when you were in school?). Anyway, the guides were terrific. They knew where to locate the horses in various kinds of weather and temperature and time of day. The guide, Bill, didn't give up till we'd located several bunches of horses. Two of us in the car were avid and determined photo takers and Bill turned the vehicle around so we could both get great shots. I plan to go with CWHF only every time I come. Worth every penny and then some.

What a GREAT day!! We got our money’s worth and then some! I did all the research and reading on the other type tours. Almost picked an ATV tour. So happy we decided to support this wonderful fund. We were able to ride in air conditioned comfort with our own personal guide for 3 hours all the way to the Virginia line. We took the early 8-11 excursion so there was no one else in our party. Apparently most people like to take the later appointments. Saw so many horses that we lost count. Our guide was full of all sorts of information and colorful stories about the horses and local life. He stopped many times for us to get out and take pictures. It was truly a memorable day!

Bill Crone was our tour guide at 8am June 14th. It was like going with a personal friend. He was so compassionate about the horses. He knew exactly where they would be found. We saw 3 on the beach at the beginning and on the return 11. And up in the dunes we also saw several horses. He was also enumerating the horses as he saw them.
This trips help fund the preservation of the wild horses, unlike the other tours. This is such an important part of their survival.

We saw 23 horses on our tour including a month old foal! There were five of us and we traveled in comfort in an enclosed SUV. Bill, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the horses and where we could find them. Our tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Be sure to have your phone or camera fully charged before you start. I liked this organization because it it a not-for-profit and all the money goes into the welfare of the horses. The volunteers keep a record of the horses they see and where they were at the time. Everyone was very friendly and answered all our questions.
