After having frequented the H-Mart in Hartsdale for many years, we just got around to trying this new H-Mart in Yonkers. In many ways they are the same but in other ways different. The shopping experience is similar but this new location is much less crowded, with wider aisles and better signage. It just has a more pleasant all around feel. A big difference is in the food court. While the Hartsdale location seems to offer mostly authentic Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes, the Yonkers location offered more Asian/American dishes. The Japanese choices seemed to be heavily Ramen and Sushi. Most of the Chinese choices can be found on the menus of Chinese American restaurants everywhere. That being said, the vegetable fried rice, seafood soup, spicy shrimp with rice, and Mandarin chicken were all very good. I cannot comment on the Korean food since the Korean vendor was not open during our visit. As for the dining area, it is very clean and spacious with lots of comfortable tables. So, both locations are good choices, with different takes on the food court.
