My associate was in the mood for Chinese, specifically egg rolls. We did a little research and had a few options so we asked the crew at the front desk of the hotel. One person said that this was their favorite Chinese place and it was only about 5-10 minutes from the hotel. So we decided to try Dragon City.
The place is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination. It is set up more for takeout than dining in. There are a few tables, but we were the only ones who ate there. Everything else was takeout. There were two people working in the kitchen area so we had to go to the cash register to order. They do have a very extensive menu with all of the Chinese food items you can imagine. We ordered pork and shrimp egg rolls, steamed dumplings, a small order of the pork fried rice and the moo shu pork.
The egg rolls came out and they were hot, but once they cooled down a little and we were able to eat them they were mostly filling with very little pork or shrimp in them. The steamed dumplings were a plate load of 8 and each dumpling was good sized. The problem here is that there was more dumpling than filling and they were a bit doughy. May be should have had them fried.
The pork fried rice had plenty of pork, but everything else was bland. The moo shu pork was a big serving too, but the wraps were served cool, not even room tempurture. Again the moo shu pork was rather bland. This was also served with white rice.
There was a lot of food for what we paid which was $30.00 with the the tip, but in my opinion it was not all that good. You got a lot, but there was not that much flavor.
If and when I am back in the Buffalo area and I am wanting Chinese I will be going elsewhere.
