Owner description: Holiday Boating- we make it easy for you! Bryher Boat and Kayak Hire from Bennett Boatyard allows you to explore the tranquil clear waters of Scilly at your own pace. Cruise between the islands, visit uninhabited shores, fish from your boat (fishing lines available to hire), take a picnic, moor up and explore... The possibilities are endless and with a safety boat doing regular patrols and staff always ready to lend a hand if you are at all unsure, this really is an option available to all. We are based at Green Bay on Bryher. We have hire points on St Martin's and deliver to Tresco by arrangement. If you are staying on the other islands, please make your way to Bryher, Tresco or St Martin's for the day and we will fit the hire around your inter-island launch times. We hire small boats with outboards, a range of sailing dinghies and stable sit on top kayaks. We provide buoyancy aids, full safety equipment and give comprehensive instruction on boat handling. Wetsuits and fishing lines also available to hire. We hire from 9.30am to 6pm with half day hires from 9.30am - 1pm or 2pm - 6pm. We can also arrange hire times around inter-island launches. We are here to help, call us to discuss your hire requirements. Thinking of keeping your boat in Scilly? We offer year round storage for all boats in our safe and sheltered enclosure. We cover all aspects of boat care and provide a full maintenance and repair service to give you a hassle free boating holiday.

Dan looks after our boat for us and offers exceptional service. He helped us to ship it over here, when we arrive it's always on a mooring. Any tips or advice he's always there. Superb thanks Dan.

Pleasurable afternoon spent exploring the coves of st Martins, Tresco and Samson in a 16' motor launch from Bennetts. The rental pickup was very quick and equipment well explained by knowledgable staff. The cost was reasonable.

Friendly staff. We hired a double kayak for half a day and paddled to old Grimsby on Tresco for an ice cream. Great way to see more of the island.

Based on St Martins we were at the mercy of where the scheduled services were going to on the day, and there's only so many trips to Tresco and back that you want to do. So we hired an outboard dinghy which was brought over from Bryher and told to enjoy ourselves. Which we did; all day. Landings on Tean, St Helens, Northwethel, lunch at old Grimsby - how cool it is to arrive at the beach directly and go straight to Ruin Beach cafe - and we still had time to cross to Samson, moor and walk up the south hill, back up to Cromwells tower and back to St Martins. Best £90 I've spent in a while. Thanks Bennett's !!

After hiring a two seat kyak for a couple of hours heading south to watch the seals playing in the sea we hired a 14ft motorboat for the day from Bennett Boatyard on our final day on Bryher - thankfully a day with a "quiet" sea. After being shown efficiently how to start the motor and other safety aspects the five of us were on our way to the uninhabited Samson - fabulous beaches and old ruins. From there over to New Grimsby Tresco stores to collect our picnic items then over to the beautiful St Martins' sandy Lawrence Bay. Parking the boat at low water using the anchor and line as shown to make sure the boat didn't disappear we walked over to the beautiful Great Bay for our picnic - one of the party even went for a swim on the almost empty beach. Returning to the yard via Bryher's Rushy Bay to watch the seals. A fabulous day and one we will repeat on our next visit this year. Highly recommended.
