We spend 2 nights in this beautiful Lodge. We are very happy with their warm Hospitality and tasty foods. Also, they offer Horse riding, fishing and river safari in their property. It's a huge place with very well-maintain. Love it :)

I did a road trip with the wife and 6 year old from Dar es salaam (broke at Mikumi, Tan-swiss hotel). Stayed Three nights in Early August 2018.

It is quite cold in August and the fire place in the room really helped.

The food is amazing. I had one of the best ice cream I have ever had at the hotel. Every meal far exceeded our expectation.

Our room was very conferrable (If I remember correctly, Cottage 1), it had really nice view of the horse pasture and lake. Clean sheets, clean room, clean toilets.... the works!!!

Over three days, we went horse ridding, boating, played Croquette for the first time ever, visited the orphanage maintained by the Foxes and had a very nice picnic next to the Lake.

My daughter loved playing with the dogs (puppies) at the farm and feeding milk to the baby sheep.

Note that do not reply on google maps to take you all the way to the hotel, apparently google maps does not work accurately when you are off the main road. We found out the hard way when we drove 20 km in the wrong direction and nearly drove off the mountain :). Use google maps up to the end of the Tarmac then rely on the directions given by the Foxes.

Room tip: Request for a room with a good view.

Rustic, warm hospitality with fresh homegrown food far off the beaten track. Here in the southern highlands of Tanzania you'll find peace, tranquillity and plenty of fresh air and outdoor activities, without the discomfort of the humidity and mosquitos of the lower coastal areas. Go hiking, horse riding, fishing or just enjoy the beautiful views and cozy log fires in the fireplace every night.

We went for a one night stay with family that included kids. Everything was excellent! The food, service, rooms, views and activities were all perfect. We played croquet, tennis, badminton and went horse riding and had a wonderful time. The kids whose ages ranged from 2 to 14 all had a great time too. Jeff, Vicki and Chris Fox are such genuine people. Their staff Patrick was really helpful and obliging. All in all the best trip I have had ever!

Room tip: Rooms 6 and 7 are family rooms and very near the lodge. Room 10 has a fire place.

We spent three unforgettable nights here.

We wanted to have a break between the two safaris we had booked and Mufindi was suggested. It was a good suggestion. We did not go for the various horse riding, canoeing options as we wanted a rest. However we were lucky to be shown round the tea plantation one day and the children’s village and medical centre charity the other. On both days we managed a walk by the lakes and the gardens themselves are worth exploring to see the hidden delights.

Being in the Southern Highlands it was cool in the mornings and evenings and fleeces were needed. The cabin had a log fire which was put to good use.

The food at Mufindi was exceptional as was the service.

To say the Fox family who run the farm and the charity were welcoming and lovely hosts would be an understatement. I will retain memories of visit here for a very long time to come.

While it's pretty far to get to from Dar es salaam at least 10-12 hrs. It was one our most memorable break. The views - breathtaking, the food -fresher than you can imagine, the service - it's like you never left home, the activities - you wouldn't want to stop; all this with the mountain weather was simply memorable. We almost added one more day.
