One in a lifetime stuff, a magical experience….

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Nov 2024via mobile
From the warm greeting on arrival to the sad moment you have to say goodbye, everything about Ikuka, feels super special. With its relaxed vibe, stunning rooms, spectacular location, fantastic food, attentive team, incredible wildlife and highly knowledgeable guides; Ikuka exceeded all expectations. One very special treat was an evening in the Rock House. It can be a tricky decision, giving up your glamorous and spacious room, for a square mosquito net, nestled between two rocks, located somewhere mysterious but magical. This however, was once in a lifetime stuff! Our dedicated chef, waiter and ranger all made our night under the stars a truly unique, memorable and safe experience - hopefully the photos do it justice. Huge thanks to the whole Ikuka team for making us feel very at home in their very special place.

High End safari experience. The staff was wonderful, especially our guide Festo.
The food was excellent and plentiful. The bed was lovely and comfortable. I do like a bathroom with two sinks ! One of my favorite things was the mid morning breakfast served by the Guide out of the supplies in the vehicle in some wonderful isolated location surrounded by nature and animals.

Staying at the Ikuka Safari Camp is like being in an Ernest Hemingway novel set in Africa. Only you are hunting the lions and elephants with a camera not guns. You wake up early and hear the baboons going wild by the river and Festo, your guide, says only a leopard makes them hysterical that way. So you jump in the safari vehicle to go see! The day ends with a beautiful tradition of a sundowner, your choice of drink as you admire the sunset and zebras. As for the Ikuka camp, it has it all—comfortable beds, excellent food, warm showers, and, most importantly, knowledgeable guides and staff. The glam tents felt like home. I almost want to keep this a secret for my future trips here, but I’m feel compelled to share this jewel in the middle of Tanzania far from the other tourists.

This was my first Safari & I was apprehensive, however, from the moment we landed, driven to Ikuka it was the most amazing & magical experience. The staff are like your family, absolutely nothing it too much trouble. Our guide Festo I will remember forever, he made it so special for us, his knowledge was mind blowing and his bush breakfasts & sundown drinks!😋. The accommodation what can I say - just wow! All the little touches as well ❤️

Room tip: Literally everything is provided so don’t worry about toiletries other than deodorant & toothpaste. I was ill & they had tablets too!

Ikuka was truly one of the most magical places we've ever stayed! The decor was perfection down to every last detail, the food was delicious (and plentiful!), and the guides were unbelievably knowledgeable. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The animal sightings were incredible, and the lack of huge crowds in Ruaha was a huge plus. Also highly recommend the walking tour with Mark! Thanks to the whole Ikuka team for such a great trip - we'll be back!

An amazing place. Nestled high up on a ridge overlooking the escarpment the views are stunning. The accommodation, food and service are impeccable hosted by the owner Mark and Chevvy. Festo the besto was our guide who would venture anywhere to see the animals which were in abundance everywhere, Lions, leopards, elephant, giraffe etc etc. We enjoyed some fabulous up close and personal experiences. Breakfasting out in the bush, sundowners watching a lion wake up plus many more great memories. Would highly recommend the location and team
