We did not stay at this hotel but visited twice for lunch. Staff very welcoming and polite, Rajiv was exceptional in his service and humour. The outside dining in right on the beach with great views. I would recommend Sakoa a lovely place

We stayed here or 5 nights recently, as the second leg of a 10 day holiday. We stayed in the South first and then travelled North to this Hotel. Our room had the most amazing view of the beach and we therefore enjoyed sitting on the balcony just enjoying the view. The hotel was very clean and the reception staff were very attentive and helpful. We were however disappointed by the staff serving in the bar and restaurant. They were not pro-active at all and at times we felt quite uncomfortable watching them stand around doing nothing. There was also another employee there, who we think may have been a security guard standing on the beach (talking to the lady who was employed to carry out massages). They seemed to spend all day standing or sitting talking! This is a lovely hotel in a stunning position which could be very, very good, attracting visitors so that it is full all the time. Please address the staffing issues - we ordered coffees one day from the beach. We had to get up and walk over to the bar to order these, even though the staff were just standing around doing nothing. Then 45 minutes later when the coffees had not materialised we then had to get up again and ask where there were! You would think that the staff would be pro-active and come to their residents asking if they wanted anything. Little things like good attentive staff make all the difference.

Room Tip: Room 14 - had the best views by far

We had a wonderful meal at le sakoa while staying in a nearby hotel in Mauritius. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cocktails were lovely and excellent value for money and the restaurant setting is beautiful.

While only a one-night stay, I enjoyed the tranquil and intimate setting of Le Sakoa. A nice departure from the large resort-style properties that are prevalent on on the island. The rooms are all tastefully and creatively decorated, and offer lots of space, both inside and on the outdoor patios. I would recommend staying in one of the beach view rooms, with Rooms 13 and 14 having the best views apart from the Honeymoon and Family Suites. The garden view rooms are very close to the main road, which has a steady flow of traffic throughout the day. There are plenty of comfortable beach loungers for all the guests, and the service was fine throughout my stay. It would be nice if there were fewer boats parked right at the water's edge, but it is otherwise an idyllic location for those looking for a unique experience.
