We stayed 3 nights in Grand Bay Suites. Had a lovely welcome from the lady at the desk. The appartment was just the same as the pictures we saw in advance. Clean, spacious, modern. Very good hot shower. Wifi was dodgy. Directly next to a supermarket and 5min walk to public beach and max 10min walk to downtown. Good value for money compared to some other accomodations. Cleaning ladies even did our dishes! 24/7 security/reception open.
We had a great time, went diving with cedric @ ocean Spirit; very nice to come 'home' to our suite after a long day diving!

We were very pleased with our stay here. Exactly what we wanted, a well equipped apartment with a fine kitchen with a real cooker and all utensils as we did not want to eat out on every night. The standard was good, it was very clean and that includes the pool which had crystal clean water and was very inviting. It is all very appealing. Many evenings were spent on the balcony overlooking the pool and greenery.

There is a good supermarket next door and an excellent very large supermarket 5-10 minutes drive away for those with cars (we had one). There are plenty of restaurants for all tastes in the Grand Baie area.

Although near a busy road, the apartments are facing away from the road towards an area with greenery, and it's very peaceful and quiet. In our apartment, the sun woke us in the mornings which was very nice (for more sleepy people there are dark curtains).

The TV didn't have any really interesting channels. And the Wifi (reachable from bedroom and mostly balcony) was not too fast and cut out briefly every 10 minutes or so. There is certainly some room for improvement there, but as we came here to enjoy Mauritius and relax, not to watch TV and get stuck online, it wasn't really a problem. The Wifi was still good enough for planning some excursions and finding relevant information.

What impressed us most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. It was genuine friendliness, not the somewhat artificial variety in expensive hotels. Together with the courteous and helpful manager it made the place feel like a home away from home. The hotel management even noted my birthday during our stay.

I my case it was my 13th visit on Mauritius, and definitely the best lodging I had so far. We had planned to stay two weeks here and then spend our last week out of three on Mauritius elsewhere. But we felt so at at ease here we extended our stay for the third week also, and we were lucky there was availability. Interestingly I spoke to another guest who felt the same about this place and also considered extending.

If you look at online website will feel that it's a beach resort. But in real it is 1 km far from the beach. Supervisors and other people are very greedy. Mr. Ram will introduce you with Mr. Toula who is a tour operator for sightseeing places. Mr. Toula cheated us telling that Gabriel island will be visited but actually had been taken to the nearest island. Very disappointing.
