My family and I have been visiting Sampson State Park for years now and it never fails to impress us, in fact it just seems to get better every time we go. The staff is super friendly and the campsite is BEAUTIFUL, it has large sites as well as cabins and brand new lakeside homes. There is also a museum that teaches you great parts of history as Sampson was once a military base/camp and several artifacts are still seen on the several trails. Definitely a great campground and also great for kids.

We noticed this park on our way to Delaware and decided to stop. It was well worth it. The park is very clean and very large. There was swimming and a dock with boats, and there is a military museum. We enjoyed sitting on the edge of Seneca Lake for a while. The scenery is beautiful and it was a great place for a picnic.

This was our first time staying in a state park...we couldnt have been happier! Clean grounds, nice boardwalk, amazing playgrounds, and fairly large campsites. Centrally located to lots of activities in the area. Would definitely stay again.

Sampson is a great base camp for exploring the Finger Lakes. Sites are arranged in six areas, each with its own bathhouse. Most sites enjoy a good degree of shade. One quirk is that electric hookups for adjacent sites are paired in between - not only may you find the hookup on the wrong side of your rig, but it may also be quite a distance away. (Ours was about 30 feet away). I recommend you have a cord that reaches at least that long. Each site is pretty big and you are allowed a lot of leeway in how your place your rig. Many folks along the outer side of ring five, the closest to the water, placed their rigs perpendicular to the official pad to maximize the view.
The bathhouses are clean, bright, and airy, and have a utility sink for dishes or laundry. Showers have separate dressing areas, but there is no curtain to keep water from splashing in, nor are there any shelves in the stalls for toiletries. Some towel hooks by the sinks would be useful, too.
There is a very small beach as well as a marina. Miles of roads to explore, so be sure to bring your bike.
This was a former military base, and you should make time to visit the onsite museum. Makes you realize how prophetic Admiral Yamamoto was when he said he feared that the Pearl Harbor attack had merely stirred a sleeping giant.
Your closest services are in Geneva, an easy 15-20 minute drive north.
Sites are electric only. There is a well laid out sewage dump and water fill at the entrance.

Large partialy shade sites. Bath houses were cleaned daily. Swimming was only open on the weekends during our stay. Many area wineries to visit. We have stayed here many times over the last 15 years and would highly recommend this campground.
