GOOD CHOICE IN POUGHKEEPSIE

We traveled to Poughkeepsie to see a show at the Rhinebeck Center for Performing Arts.
After checking a number of hotels, I chose the Holiday Inn Express as the location was good, price was right, and reader ratings were fine.
I'm glad we chose the Holiday Inn Express. The room was well-appointed, staff was friendly, and breakfast offerings were fresh and plentiful, although I would have liked some non-sweetened cold cereal offerings.
The only downside was that housekeeping made up our bathroom on the second morning, but not the bedroom. We advised the front desk, which made amends.
We recommend it.

Clean room and kind staff

Staff very welcoming on check-in despite our late booking. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable as well as the bathroom being filled with good amenities. Breakfast was average however there was a lovely eating area with a TV showing the news and videos to keep children entertained. Overall - nice, clean hotel!

Room tip: Free parking

Terrible

Terrible place, room was in the basement that smelled. Got into the room and it was flooded. We proceeded to clean it up while going back to the front desk for more towels. Started to clean the flood and then discovered dead bugs in the bed sheets and then had someone walk in on us. Got a different room in the basement with a terrible smell to. No other room options available.

Met our needs

Spent 3 nights here. Staff were courteous. It met our needs for a vacation lodging. Breakfast offerings and presentation were less than expected for HI Express but parking was fine. Room was clean and no surprises. No complaints. Would stay again.

great visit close to Marist college

Fabulous value with superior service. Seidy Velez at check-in was cordial, professional, and extremely patient with us. She even adjusted our rooms to meet the needs of our family group without hesitation or questioning our request. The facility was clean, comfortable, and very well located for Marist college. The rooms provided were well-appointed with many towels, efficient TV, and easy access. Most importantly, the included breakfast was outstanding! Hot and cold dishes, cereals, yogurt, and (our favorite) pancakes. This was our third stay here and look forward to coming back.

Room tip: exercise room was superior
