What a beautiful and cozy cabin. Our family had a wonderful and relaxing vacation this week. Lisa the owner gave us very helpful information in things to do in the area. We will definitely book again in the future.
Starting from our first inquiry, Lisa, the owner was so warm and friendly we felt "welcomed" right away. Including our dog, Josey. Any questions we had were always addressed immediately and she gave us excellent recommendations and information. The house is beautifully decorated and super cozy. The beds were so comfortable with plush-y pillows and comforters - even the pull out couch!! The kitchen (which was gorgeous by the way) was equipped with anything you would need to cook anything, plus there were many "extras" around like teas, coffees, condiments, etc... The property was even bigger then the pictures show with stairs leading down to the river. We witnessed a family of eagles everyday catching fish and flying by and even had a bear mosey on by on our last night when we were eating dinner on the deck!! He kept his distance thankfully but it was exciting! Josey kept very busy and entertained chasing chipmunks any time she was out. We will miss relaxing on the deck viewing the river. Twice, we took a ride ,maybe 10 minutes away?, To the Mongaup River Trail. It a very easy and flat trail that follows the river and is beautiful. It ends with a family cemetery from the 1800's which was very interesting. There is a deli right over the bridge that offered a "clam bake" ready to cook!! Great price and delicious!! A surprising treat!! The ride into Barryville is quick and has everything you might need. We did some "antique-ing" and then went zip lining at Kittatinney which was first for all of us and thrilling. I highly recommend it!! I thought I might chicken out but once we were there the staff was so awesome and informative I lost my fear. I'm so glad I did because it really was an adventure. It's actually one of the longest zip lines in the nation!! On our way out we stopped at the Brick Oven Pizza place that Lisa recommended and loved it!!! The ONLY downside of the trip was we had to leave!! We would have liked to do the rafting trip down the river which is about four hours, but will have to be next time - which we will be looking into before too long!!! We really, really enjoyed ourselves and Lisa, we can't thank you enough for sharing your home with us!
My friends and I stayed in this river cabin over the summer and boy did we have fun! Not only is this spot close to a ton of outdoorsy activities (river rafting, hiking, small town gems), it is a truly beautiful vacation home. You can access the water on the property itself or take a short drive to a watersports rental spot (depending on what you wanna do).
The cabin is spotless and decorated in traditional woodsy memorabilia. It’s like stepping into an LL Bean catalogue. There is a huge balcony that overlooks the water and the woods (freakin gorgeous).
The hosts were very accommodating and close by to help when my friends and I needed something or wanted suggestions on what to do. Excited to book another get-a-way to see what the other seasons have to offer in Port Jervis.
