As the summer winds down on north fork of Long Island our friends from Florida came for a visit. Last night we made a special dinner on the outdoor dock at orient by the sea. The weather was spectacular as was the view of the docked boats and the bay. But to not mention the meal would be a sin. Clam chowder, outstanding. Steamed mussels, outstanding. Lobsters and sword fish outstanding. The service was perfect, friendly attentive, quick but not all rushed. If you happen to be out on the north fork take the drive to the orient ferry terminal and have a great meal at Orient by the Bay.
We decided to take a ride to the North Folk on a beautiful summer day. Then headed to Orient Point as riding through East Marion is just wonderful for it's views and tranquility.
Never been to this restaurant before and just wanted nice water views and being outside. Looking left was the Cross Sound Ferry coming in and out as we sat on the patio with umbrellas that had a Caribbean flair.
Good food in a relaxed picnic setting watching local fishing boats come in with their catch.
We ordered ordered Flounder and Mahi sandwiches grilled on Rye toast which were fresh and filling.
Staff was friendly and we just enjoyed the low key atmosphere.
Came for lunch and sat outside. The white clam chowder was amazing! Rich with excellent flavors. The burgers were huge, very good, the sautéed mushrooms and onions really really good. A perfect stop for lunch.
Nice view if you sit outside but the food just okay. I had the lazy lobster for $38. and just mediocre. My husband had the fisherman's catch and it was really less than mediocre. Would not return.
