This tiny, charming, family-owned and operated business is a real gem. While they carry some general grocery items, the real star is their sandwich business and home baked goods. They offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and they are delicious! Sit outdoors at a picnic table and enjoy the beauty of small town, east coast living, or take your goodies to go. The baked goods vary, but are always amazing. Highly recommend you take the time to stop in here.

If you want to feel like you have stepped back into a more simpler place in time and history in our beautiful America, the Orient Country Store Is the place to be. The owners and employees are amazingly welcome and make you feel like you have just arrived home from a long journey. The variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches are varied and delicious. The town of Orient will make your heart skip a beat. Have a cookie and sit in a rocking chair on the from porch of the store and watch the slow pace of life go by!

A throw back to how general stores began. Too much stuff, old weathered building, and the BEST sandwich and bake shop we found during this trip.
We made a wrong turn and happened upon this gem. Ordered sandwiches to bring to the state park down the road. We are very happy we did.
I had a chicken, pesto, veggie on multi-grain bread. Nothing fell out while it! Never had that happen in my life and the taste was fantastic.
My husband had a BLT on Cibatta and it was just as tasty and neat. We also had an apple custard tart (good, not great) and a chocolate Guinness cake (amazing).
For clarity....this is a general store, not a true restaurant. They have very small tables near the deli counter, but not big enough for 3 people. Pick up and Go here!

The Orient Country Store, one of the oldest of it's kind in the USA, is a small but beautifully stocked general store selling well selected provisions. But it's true greatness lies in it's freshly cooked or assembled sandwiches and an amazing selection of phenomenal baked goods, made on the premises by Miriam who is a family member/owner. The atmosphere is welcoming and cordial and makes you feel like a valued guest. If you're out on the Eastern most part of the North Fork and want breakfast, lunch, or need stuff, The Orient Country Store is a great place to go! It's worth a visit.
