“So good we just had to return !!!!!”
Reviewed 17 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Really pleased we returned to this stunning extended family size, extremely well equipped farmhouse to explore the area in Spring.

From being greeted enthusiastically by the hosts Judith and Kevin to the welcoming fire and a great welcome pack we were instantly made to feel at home. The garden looked amazing especially the entrance with geraniums and grapevines abundant on the front veranda and we were encouraged to cut flowers for the house from the stunning tulip, daisy, lavender and poppies .We loved the new fairy garden and dino park for the kids ..inspirational will definitely make one at home..

The heated pool area is stunning set among walnut trees and a great size for swimming .
Extra seating gave us a lovely covered dinning area including a barbie and fridge for poolside drinks. With loads of sunbeds a hammock., beach towels provided and solar shower ...along with the table tennis and bikes... family .bliss...everyone catered for.

Thanks for keeping us informed of the local events like the Sunday markets ...but especially the local Strawberry Fair day ....lovely to see a traditional village produce the worlds largest strawberry tart ...and we got to taste it too.....

Just hope you can still fit us in for 2017...would love to bring friends with us.

“Great house, very friendly owners”
Reviewed 27 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We arrived at the farmhouse on a chilly rainy friday evening and Kevin had lit up a fire for us. We also found a nice bottle of wine, cheese, grapes, butter, milk, orange juice... We are used to renting places but it is the first time we felt so welcome. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The house is perfect for 10 . The heated swimming pool is awesome and big enough to swim. The house is nicely decorated with lots of good books . We will definetely come back and would advise anyone to rent the place. Thank you Kevin and Judith !

“We found a pearl in the Dordogne!”
Reviewed 23 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Ideal location for Brive airport, only 45 minutes away and the car rental was straightforward. The house is tucked away in the beautiful French countryside and surrounded by a lovely garden including wonderful walnut trees. The house is furnished in such a tasteful way that you can't help but feel welcome. Everything you could possibly need is available, particularly in the kitchen, even a gadget for preparing pineapples and another one for melons! Judith and Kevin have certainly thought of so many things to make sure that guests of all ages are catered for e.g. play area for children in the garden, bikes and cycling helmets, plenty of seating around the large pool, barbecues, table tennis table and books galore. You don't have to travel far to visit amazing places like Rocamadour - truly breathtaking buildings or the picturesque village of Carennac. We could not have asked for more and look forward to coming again. Big thanks to Judith and Kevin for making us feel so welcome.

THank you Steve and Margaret, we are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at La Chauvarie and would welcome you and your friends back again at any time. Whilst the weather was not usual for the time of the year it was good that you managed so many tourist spots and also managed that promised dip in the pool at 27degrees! Lovely to see you all, enjoy the rest of the summer and make sure you look us up soon to try out a different season and get to see Le cirque de popie and the gouffre de Padirac and more. Send me your address and I will post your cardigan, already laundered and packed ready to go! Cordialement, Jude and Kev.
PS. please distribute our cards to family and friends who may be interested.

“Idyllic Location and Accommodation”
Reviewed 17 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This accommodation and location is perfect for a relaxing holiday. We arrived after a long drive from Holland and were very warmly greeted by our hosts Judith and Kevin. After a tour of the house, which has everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday, we wandered round the wonderful large garden which has many plants and walnut trees. There is a large swimming pool area which is perfectly maintained, unfortunately the weather was a bit too chilly to use the pool. The area is perfect for cycling, walking, jogging etc. There are also many nice places to visit which are not too far away by car. We will return in the not too distant future.

“Idyllic peaceful rural farmhouse, magnificent pool and pick your own Walnuts”
Reviewed 15 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Just returned to this fantastic holiday let, such a peaceful and relaxing setting, yet 5 mins by car to local shops and less than an hour from the top must see sites like canoeing on the River Dordogne, the amazing Rocamadour built on a cliff side and the stunning Gouffe de Padirac deep cave including a boat trip - something for everyone.

The farmhouse has been refurbished to a stunning standard offering everything you could want and so much more. The owners excel in providing those extras that make a holiday memorable , wi-fi , bicycles, table tennis , baby equipment , barbie, poolside bar area with fridge to keep your wine cool, children s slide and swing area and huge wood fire. Where else can you swim in a large salt water pool ( no stinging eyes ) while watching sheep and hens on next door farm. In October we were even allowed to collect fresh walnuts to bring home.

Lots of room both in the house and the well kept gardens , this holiday let is a perfect child-friendly place for extended family or groups of friends to chill out

I'll be back in 2016.

Thank you for your very kind review. You should know that you will always be welcome here. Your gardening advice and efforts picking walnuts mark you out as a very special guest. We have continued the planting, all the bulbs are now safely underground waiting for the spring when we hope to see you again. Good luck with your gardening.
