Top class bush break

Everything about Camp Ndlovu is 5 star!
Sanet and her team make sure that you every need is catered to. The food is divine, the staff are friendly, the accommodation was amazing and there is such attention to detail that you will be left speechless. Bornwell is a fantastic guide and he made sure that we saw all the game we wanted to. We will definitely return and recommend this lodge. This is the best lodge we have visited in South Africa.

A few weeks ago I went on my first real safari experience in South Africa. I chose to go to Welgevonden as this was near Johannesburg, roughly 2,5 hour drive and also Malaria free.

When we arrived at the Welgevonden Estate, the Ndlovu staff was already waiting for us with a welcome drink and some snack. Then we drove for around 45 minutes to the camps site while enjoying the most amazing views, nature and animals.

We felt immediately the warmth of the camp the moment we arrived at there. The staff was waiting for us, greeting us and a beautiful lunch lunch was waiting for us.

During our time at the lodge we saw a life kill of a 'wildebees' by two lions, we did an amazing game walk and had elephant and zebra's all day long at the lodge while we were enjoying the sun or a drink.

I just had nothing what I missed, the whole experience was amazing and Camp Ndlovu has eye for detail. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and has every amenity you could wish for.

I wish I could go back today.

Thank you everyone for making it an unforgettable experience.

On our arrival we were greeted with beating drums, a welcome drink and friendly staff.

Throughout our stay the level of service and attention to detail was immaculate and the staff went out of their way to keep us satisfied.

With every meal the food was great and the servings more than generous.
When we didnt feel like having a full meal the one night, we simply communicated this to Lawrence who was more than happy to provide us with a delicious snack platter instead.

The game drives by Malvin, the very knowledgeable guide were great and animal sightings plentiful.
Even at the lodge at the watering hole, animals frequently visited and we could enjoy watching them up close from the deck where we enjoyed our daytime meals.

The camp fires at night on the deck under the stars and with the sounds of the bush were equally magical.

The unit we stayed in had everything we could want for and more on this luxury bush escape, from a private pool, to outside bath and outside shower, deck, stocked mini bar, etc, etc.
The camp and all the rooms are ever so immaculately designed and furnished.

The general manager, Sanet is such a warm and friendly lady who went out of her way to ensure that our stay was perfect.

Once again we were bid farewell by Sanet and all the staff with beating drums and an African song.............beautiful memories we take along with us!!

Excuse the pun but yes, Camp Ndlovu is just amazing.
We stayed at The Residence (part of the hotel portfolio) prior to our visit to the Camp and Lucky, one of the drivers, drove us from Johannesburg on a two and a half hour journey to our destination. From the moment we were met at the main Welgevonden Game Reserve gate by Marvin - an exceptional guide - we knew it was going to be a special 3 night stay at Camp Ndlovu.
The journey from the main gate to the Camp took over an hour and was a game drive in itself.
On arrival, we were given such a warm welcome by Sanet and her team. With traditional singing and drumming - a lovely welcome!
All the staff are wonderful. Excellent meals from Nicolas and Lawrence; unbelievable that such quality and imaginative dishes are created in a camp in the middle of a game reserve. Nothing is too much trouble. Whatever you desire can be dealt with here. Amazing.
I’m not going to list every animal we saw, and there were many but will highlight those special moments - when the elephants came for a mud bath in front of the deck of the Camp and followed it by a good scratch against the tree; when we saw the lion taking the early morning sun; following 2 lionesses to their ‘kill’; white rhino with baby; hippos; being in the middle of an elephant herd (I called this an elephant festival). Elephants were coming through the bush, down the road, even passing close to the vehicle and stopping to look at us before carrying on to meet up with their group. I counted 30 and then lost count. They were wonderful to watch. Especially the young ones at play. Coming across a Tower of giraffe (Tower is the name for a group of giraffe - sorry if you knew that already) as we drove around a corner. Coming across an elephant with attitude, on our early morning game drive, who stamped his feet, flapped his ears, swung his trunk and let out an almighty trumpeting before really deciding to assert himself and charge our vehicle at speed. Marvin, our guide, was brilliant. Before we knew it he had put the game vehicle into reverse and got us out of the area at speed. We always felt perfectly safe with Marvin and the experiences he gave us with the animals we saw will always be remembered.
Nothing is too much trouble here; it’s relaxed yet refined.
One visit will not be enough!

My friend and I recently had the delight of spending our "Girls Easter Weekend" at Camp Ndlovu and what an amazing weekend away it was.....we didn't want to leave!!

This lodge in Welgevonden is by far one of my best bush Lodge experiences. Not only is the lodge situated over a watering hole and stream, so game viewing comes to the lodge as you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner....but every detail of this place is a wonderful experience.

The chalets are fully equipped with everything, from Nespresso machine, to crisp white linen, crystal glasses, wine, rusks....this list goes on.. The chalets are spacious, with indoor and outdoor shower and bath, you own plunge pool on the deck, and a wonderful view of the passing game.

The staff are wonderful and cater for your EVERY need, and the food is a culinary journey of the finest! The presentation of the meals and the little attention to detail, like the silver butter dishes, salt and pepper pots, makes for exceptional fine dining

The game viewing was wonderful, both on the bush drives, and from the lodge itself. Our Game ranger was knowledgeable, and snacks and drinks serves on the drive, were delicious

Sanet (the GM) and her team run a fantastic lodge that will not disappoint in any way

Cannot wait to return....for longer next time
