This place isn’t that cheap to give their customers such subpar accommodations. Luckily it was only for one night. My first room was filled with flies. After swatting down six and trapping the remainder in the window I got a new room. It was the last room in the corner of the second floor. It was quiet which was the only positive. It was small which wasn’t the biggest problem-that would be the powerful mildew smell. Not the peaceful night I was looking for. Avoid at all costs.
Good price but not so good experience. The staff are friendly but the rooms not so great. Next to a strip club so that says a lot for this place. Not a place I would take my wife to again. Not the strip club rather the lodge. The continental breakfast was kind of a joke. Not much there. The do have an outdoor pool but no one was using it.
This hotel has bugs inside the rooms the rooms are dirty the beds are gross very old the bathrooms are disgusting. And the people who work there didnt help us at all the only thing that they know is to say no money back.
This property is conveniently a half mile off the NY thruway. The room was clean but needed updating. Walls between rooms did not block sound. We spent the night listening to the tv and conversation next door. Free breakfast was very basic: coffee, tea, bagel, muffin, fruit and yogurt. (No hot food or cereal.) Staff at desk was very friendly and helpful. Room rates go up for special events; not unusual in a college town. Sometimes have 2 night minimum stay requirement. Close to Mohonk Preserve which is a great hiking spot; Hyde Park, Vanderbilt mansion, Culinary Institute of America, winery, are a few of the attractions just a short drive away over the Mid-Hudson Bridge.
Non smoking room smelled of smoke I was able to change rooms, in the new room bathroom light didn’t work so they fixed it when we left the room, there was a cigarette burn hole in blanket of our so called non smoking room, ripped desk chair, you can’t open the windows because the trucks passing sound like a plane is landing in your room and the absolute worst thing was DISGUSTING URINE STAINS ON INSIDE OF BED SPREAD!!! Absolutely disgusting and totally grossed me out. If I would of noticed it before I went to bed I would have checked out immediately. Front desk was horrible, very unprofessional and accused me of staining the bedspread which was dry urine stains!! I was never so disrespected. HORRIBLE UNSANITARY PLACE that is individually owned and not regulated under Econo Lodge. The board of health must look in to this hotel.
