We only stayed one night in this accommodation. Due to our late arrival (getting lost in Swaziland is not a good thing to do) we were not able to do any activity's at the camp. The beehive huts are nice to see and are equipped with all the basic needs. Although you can easily hear outside noise and people walking by, this didn't disturbed us much as you can also hear animals and night sounds which increases your wildlife experience. The restaurant was good and with a nice view on the hippo pool. Staff were helpful and friendly. The road to the camp is a little rough so be careful there, we made it with our Kia Picanto but i would advise a bigger car (prob. a 4x4 is best)

Sorry to hear you got lost in Swaziland! Please let us know directly if this was a point of our directions, or a GPS error? We would like to assess any issues had and correct for future guests.
Well done on navigating our roads! Smaller cars can adequately get to the camps from the tar road, although some roads become a challenge during wet weather. There has been a lot of wash during recent rain storms, but it is definitely still passable. The best advice is to always keep tyres on the higher ground!
Great to hear you enjoyed our unique beehive huts, staff and restaurant.

Mlilwane was a great experience. There's a good mix of locals and tourists, braaing (BBQing), hanging out at the restaurant/bar, and in the very nice party huts (gazebos). The cultural dancing and drums around the fire at night is THE HIT. I loved staying in the behive hut with it's luxury linens, nice water pressure, tea and coffee facilities. The restaurant food and service were excellent. The bartenders were entertaining. I had a terrific time at Mlilwane and would recommend this as a stopover. We didn't use the pool but others enjoyed it.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Nyala, new behives (with ensuite bathrooms)

We enjoyed our stay in the Bee Hive hut. Super clean, very comfortable beds, and good showers. Its a 3 star lodge, but in a 5 star settings. Great walks to be done. You can also rent bikes. Peacefull. Very inviting swimming pool. Would suggest a 2 night stay.

Stayed: November 2016

Mlilwane is not for people who like a wild bush experience, but you can walk and cycle and ride horses in the reserve which gives you a more intimate experience. Zebra and nyala were grazing within touching distance of my patio! The rondavels were lovely, with great views, and the rangers were delightful. But the ladies at reception were surly and unwelcoming and there was a lot of shrieking and yelling reverberating around the camp on both days I was there, from big parties of day trippers. Management made no attempt to deal with it, despite numerous notices warning about excessive noise. When I mentioned it to the guide supervisor, she looked at me with hostility and said "What noise? Oh, those are day visitors. They will be gone by sunset".

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rondavels, with a view over the river and mountains. Number 5 or 6 are at the end, furthest from the day trippers

Thank you for a lovely review regarding facilities and activities. Since its inception, Mlilwane is not a wilderness park but rather a wildlife Sanctuary, hence we promote it as an "Outdoor lover's paradise."
Your experience of the day visitors is concerning - more so our lack of management of it. Your comment has been forwarded to Management for handling with staff. This time of year is tricky with locals coming through and loving Mlilwane, but noise levels are often challenging! It is a difficult balance to maintain - we encourage our local visitors to get out onto our parks and embrace nature with respect, and have fun. This said, our staff know to be vigilant about noise and will be reminded, thank you.
