We booked a 2 bedroom Porch Cabin for my family of 6. The place is in the middle of nowhere about 5 mi from Lake George Village. While my wife and I liked that it was away from everything, it was kind of like jail for my teens with nowhere to go w/o mom or dad. Despite the location it was an easy drive to get just about anywhere in the area.
Pros: Nice indoor pool and hot tub, Nightly fire pit with wood provided. Sunday brunch (food was great but not a lot of variety)
Cons: Sofa bed was missing some springs and it's best days were years ago, no washer/dryer (at least none that we were allowed to use), and no oven (just a 2 burner electric cook top).
The place provided free access to a tiny beach at the bay across the street at the boat and beach club. Note that the beach is managed by the boat and beach club and not the resort and they graciously (not) allow Dunham's Bay Resort access to the beach. The guy who runs it couldn't be nicer to his beach club members. However if you are using it as a resident of the resort, he couldn't be nastier if you violate any of the rules like forgetting your wrist band when you are obviously with others who have theirs. Remember the soup ---- on Seinfeld; this guy was the beach ----. Consider yourself warned.
