Owner description: During a 1791 visit, Thomas Jefferson was moved to say, "Lake George is without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw." Not much has changed. Today this 32-mile long, 3-mile wide dazzling lake draws vactioners who come to enjoy a plethora of outdoor endeavors including sailing, swimming, cruising on historic steamboats, hiking and more.

Last month we had the opportunity to go to Americacade ,in Lake George ,NY. When there we RV camped at Lake George Campgrounds just off of exit 23 on I-87.
The campgrounds were what we were looking for, quiet , a small beach which had a running stream and clean facilities .
The maintenance manager ,Mike , seemed to be on duty all the time and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable with the campgrounds.
We want to thank him on a job well done.

Our family has fond memories of our visits to Lake George. It's one of those places that it's low key. Relatively inexpensive. Teens can walk into town. Create their own fun. Hang out, etc. Great places to eat. Always something to do. One of my places to visit and stay for a few days. Very relaxing.

Early in the Season, but this place is beautiful. All the merchants and hotel staff that we talked to or dealt with were friendly and open. A very nice experience. A photo of Lake George is now my PC's wallpaper!

We went to the Jungle experience zoo which is about 40 minutes from Lake George. The most intimate and awesome hands on zoo ever. We got to hold a baby kangaroo among other animals. We went up Prospect Mountain and took awesome pictures of Lake George. My husband son went fishing and caught a bass. We made candles in a little shop called Wix and Sticks. We went on a steam ship and had lots of fun.
