An amazing stay at Makokolo, spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Food was wonderful with good food menu and wine list, delicious chocolate cakes, made in house. Thanks to Ravi and all the staff at Makokolo who made my stay enjoyable especially George who gave up his day off to drive me to Liwonde, a very special trip I will remember. Highly recommend a stay here when traveling in Malawi.
An amazing stay. Everyone is so helpful and made the whole family feel very welcome. I am sure my parents will be telling everyone about their stay here when they get back to the UK.
Very clean, very organised, the food is awesome and the staff is always ready to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. We've been there in April two families and was one of the best days of our holidays. Golf at the neighbouring course, tennis, gym. I did my scheduled training at the 25-meter pool. Lunch, coffees, drinks in total tranquility. Ravi, the manager has either a twin brother or is a really fast walker because the guy is EVERYWHERE! Benetito, the owner, offered us a complimentary lake boat trip and arranged for dinner at the pool side area, which made us not want to leave this paradise! Unfortunately, they were fully booked so had to start planning our next visit there 😉
I built the first stage of Club Makakola in 1969 1970. The developer was my father and I had just graduated. Two of stayed in reed shelter with a tarpaulin roof. The building team came from the local village - hence Makakola. It's great to read all these great reviews.
Been to Makakola very regularly for several years now for business and always loved this place but last week I spent a few days with family and friends there relaxing and it was AMAZING! The top notch service from Ravi and the team is something that needs to be recognized. Everything is top quality and beautifully made, the food was great, the view stunning, and the boat trip to the next island for snorkeling was unforgettable! We had so much fun playing in the pool, tennis, gym and golf - something for everyone. I can’t recommend this place enough!
