I built the first stage of Club Makakola in 1969 1970. The developer was my father and I had just graduated. Two of stayed in reed shelter with a tarpaulin roof. The building team came from the local village - hence Makakola. It's great to read all these great reviews.
Been to Makakola very regularly for several years now for business and always loved this place but last week I spent a few days with family and friends there relaxing and it was AMAZING! The top notch service from Ravi and the team is something that needs to be recognized. Everything is top quality and beautifully made, the food was great, the view stunning, and the boat trip to the next island for snorkeling was unforgettable! We had so much fun playing in the pool, tennis, gym and golf - something for everyone. I can’t recommend this place enough!
We had a really unforgettable time at The Makokola Retreat over the Easter weekend. The Lake Suites are incredible and having a pool just for these suites is fabulous. The food was amazing, so much variety at each meal. Incredible service from the front desk, waiters, housekeeping, management etc.! And the Gelato is scrumptious! Thank you for helping to make our family time so memorable, we will definitely be back!
Ravi organised an amazing retreat for my family and myself, for that I can only say it’s right that we give all our appreciation and thanks to him.
From the great service provided by all the staff especially Aubrey to all the amazing facilities, there was no lack of excitement though out our time at Makakola. We had a lovely candle lit dinner on the beach for our last night that was organised by the friendly and helpful staff. It was an excellent farewell.
The rooms were lovely and very comfortable, with maids that made the bed and set up mosquito nets every night.
Overall id definitely come back in the future and would say if you’re in Malawi make sure you come and visit the Makokola retreat.
Wonderful views….excellent customer service….one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to😊….. Very spacious rooms and aesthetically pleasing.. I will definitely be a repeat customer and will recommend them to everyone I know…..
