My wife and I had dinner here and sat on the front porch. The service was good but the server could not identify the cheeses we ordered for an appetizer. Two of the three cheeses were just awful- dull, odd flavored and not worth it. My halibut was overcooked . I had the chocolate mousse for dessert which was full of lumps. Nothing we ordered was very complicated yet an uninspired dinner was our fate. Too bad.

My partner and I were out camping in Lake Placid and learnt it would be raining on the weekend. We looked online for hotels in the region to keep us warm and could only find overproced chains for over 200$ a night. We eventually looked just outside the area in Elizabethtown and found the Dear's Head Inn at a markedly lower rate, and offering clean and spacious rooms with the cachet a two hundred years old building has to offer.

After setting in we decided we would give the restaurant a try for dinner. My partner and I live in Montreal and often enjoy its tremendous affordable food scene. The dinner we had there at the Inn was delicious. Only seldom do we find restaurants we would return to were they in Montreal when traveling. This one features among the few - and at a remarkably low price.

Everything about this place is perfect. The rooms and their respective bathrooms are comfortable, clean, and well decorated. There is a strong wifi too. The food is absolutely delicious, locally sourced. In the summer, the outside porch/patio is much enjoyable. They are located very close from many Adirondack trailheads and from Lake Placid (without the price you would pay for lodging at Lake Placid). The value for money is incomparable. We will definitely come back and much recommend this place to anyone visiting the Adirondack region.

Dropped by on a Sunday evening when a great Blues band were playing. Good food (the buffalo wings were A mazing!), good selection of beers and a great waitress who was working very hard as the only server in a near packed restaurant (she didn’t miss a beat).
Building is lovely with an interesting history.

Three of us went to the Deer's Head for dinner. To fund out they had a four piece band. They were very good and not to loud. The waitress was very nice but very busy. The food was great the chilled shrimp, salad and chowder were very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal
