We had a fabulous 2 weeks in a deluxe bungalow, suited us perfectly in a palm shaded grove just back from the beach. Loved the room and its bathroom open to the skies. Adam looked after us extremely well keeping it spotlessly clean. Not being big eaters or drinkers, we went on a bed and breakfast basis so therefore had the choice of all the restaurants. Tried all apart from the Japanese and had excellent food and service in each, so good I can't pick a favourite. Ate mostly in the evening in the cafe with a great welcome each time especially from Mirah and the team - Ram, Amjad, Noor, Panichu and Lahfan. Breakfast in the buffet was plentiful and again, a lovely warm welcome each day from Aseela and Bee. Ahmed seemed to be everywhere and again, a really pleasant young man to have a conversation with along with Fulhu who supervises the gardeners. In fact every member of staff were polite, warm and welcoming but you can't name them all. The island is spotless and well kept, can be strolled around in about 25 mins (if you don't stop at the 2 beach bars!), Mina at Athiri 1 is especially welcoming. We snorkeled everyday and saw fascinating fish, loads of sharks, a couple of porcupine rays and even got to swim with a large turtle one day. We had read in previous reviews about the proximity to Male but the benefit was the extremely short transfer, the air traffic was unobtrusive and at night was just a lot of lights on the horizon.
