What a find tucked away 4 miles from Southwold. Our first experience of Glamping and what a great one. Sophie and Tom have added such thoughtful extras from marshmallows, fairy lights, fire pits, towels and each tent having it's own individual character and view. Amazeballs.
We would thoroughly recommend staying here - it was so cosy and even had a log burner. It also really convenient for cycle route 31 and wonderful walk in and around Southwold and Walberswick. Even if you don't want to stay in and BBQ and enjoy eating under the stars (a must!), there are lots of lovely places to eat too.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my sons for their first glamping trip and we were all so impressed. We were met on arrival by Sophie and Tom who showed us around and gave us tips on the local area. The tents are far more luxurious than we expected with lots of thought gone into the decor. Each tent had it’s own fire pit and bbq, really well arranged to give privacy from the other tents.
We did find it really cold during the night, but plenty of blankets were provided so we were fine once in bed, though next time I would try to book one of the tents with the wood burner. This is a lovely site and I’d definitely recommend it.
WOW what an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! My wife and i stayed at the Firs for only one night with our 2 year old daughter and wished we'd booked for longer!
Tom and Sophie were great.. they went through everything we needed to know about the site and it's surrounding areas which enables us to get the most out of our stay. We couldn't believe the attention to detail they have applied in all aspects to this site, we had to keep reminding ourselves that we were camping as we certainly weren't roughing it lol!!
The toilet/showers were both clean and fresh, there is ventilation internal to each toilet keeping these smelling fresh and the showers were top quality, good pressure with more heat than needed.
The decor in our tent 'Willow' was so cool.. and the bed!!! this bed was sooo comfy, better than ours at home!! whats that all about lol!!! The view from the front of Willow is of an outstanding landscape view of the beautiful suffolk countryside, which could also be seen when laying in the bed with the tent doors tied back.. it's just breathtaking!
Night time at Firs glamping was yet another unexpected treat.. the solar lighting has been strategically placed and switches on at dusk which turns the site into an enchanted fairytale garden and with the fire pit burning away at the same time it would be easy to sit out all night just taking it all in.
I couldn't recommend Firs Glamping more if you are looking to Glamp in and around the Southwold area!
Had a lovely weekend with my boyfriend at Firs Glamping - such a pretty secluded spot with just 3 bell tents. Loved walking through the curvy paths cut into the wild meadow grass to reach our tent & own garden area. Arrived after dark and it was quite magical - small pathway lights lit up our way, the tents gave off a warm glow, with the fairylights and moon completing the scene. Was so nice tying back the canvas doors in the morning to let in the views over the local farmer's fields whilst sipping a cuppa in the super comfy bed.
Sophie & Tom are obviously passionate about the site - from the gorgeous rugs, cushions, candles & decking in/around the tents to the fully equipped kitchenette & very clean toilets/showers (mirror, soap, loo roll, fresh towels all included). Being a bit of an environmentalist I was pleased to see all the solar lights and compost loos too (that, unlike at festivals, actually don't smell)!
Being deep in the countryside you will need a car or to enjoy cycling... we took a great trip up the river on the Norfolk Broads for the afternoon (£50 for 3 hour boat hire from a Marina Tom recommended - boat was simple enough to drive and moor up at a pub) and we also really enjoyed wandering around Southwold. Firs Glamping - totally recommend!
Our stay at Firs Glamping was fabulous from start to finish, definitely recommend this place!
Tom and Sophie are really personable and helpful, they have a wicked little set up here in the perfect location. We rented bikes off them and peddled to Southwold for the day which was so much fun.
As a young couple this was exactly what we wanted, total freedom with a bit of luxury. You get your own set up complete with a log burner, outside table and chairs, fire pit (plus marshmallows). The showers are more powerful than some hotels I've stayed in!
There are no rules as long as you're respectful and it works perfectly.
Thanks for a great stay, we will 100% be back :)
