“Safari on elephants...so amazing!”
Reviewed 23 August 2016

Getting to interact with the elephants and see their personalities was fantastic. Nelady the baby elephant is hysterical because she is so naughty; it so much fun to see her getting in to all sorts of trouble. Paul Allen (of Microsoft) bought Abu and is dedicated to conservation which is great. The decor was fabulous and had a lighter, but still appropriately rustic, feel than the other lodges that we visited. The staff was great, and our guide Taps was great, SP was new and so wonderful and Kelly surprised us by saying that baboons had gotten in to our tent so that we needed to just make sure everything was okay. We went down and she had filled the outdoor bathtub with bubbles and left us champagne for our anniversary. A spot not to miss!

Room Tip: The room closest to camp is the best in my opinon, but all are great!

Dear GulfStream14,

Thank you for your beautiful review and for choosing our wonderful camp to spend your anniversary with us. We are delighted to hear Kelly, SP, Taps and the whole Abu family gave you the royal treatment for the occasion. The boisterous Naledi is always stealing the show, but when you are that cute and loveable how can we not let her get away with her child-like antics.

We hope you will spend many more anniversaries with us in the future.

What more can i say other than fantastic. This was the first stop on my two boys and wife's african safari. It was elephant intensive and M lady the baby elephant being reared to be re introduced was a favorite of my boys. The first night we had hippos 30 feet off the deck feeding in the grassy marsh of the delta. A Giraffe was eating the tree in front of our cabin and elephants knocked palm nuts on to our roof all night long.

The food was fantastic, the service 110% and we would go back in a heart beat!

It was surprising cool to cold at night so pack your winter gear in July but no bugs.

Room Tip: I was in 5 and the hippos loved the grass out front.

It cannot get any better: One of the best lodge- and activity experiences in southern Africa I’ve ever had! Our two-day stay will remain with us forever: The exquisite food, privacy, the elephant experiences, private game drives and top-notch accommodation, staff (especially manager Aaron) left nothing for us to wish for… If you want to spoil yourself, the Abu Camp is a must! Even the tree-top night under the elephant camp was unforgettable! 110%

We were greeted at the landing strip by Jamie Rose who made us feel welcomed and cherished. Aaron the general manager went out of his way to show us the elephants nursery. The good taste of the camp amenities, the service and the food were all outstanding.
Thank you for making our stay at the beautiful Okavango Delta unforgettable.

Hi Leo,

We are so glad you enjoyed your quick visit to Abu Camp! We were sad to have you for such a short stay, but we hope you come back to Botswana for a true stay at Abu and with the Abu herd. Perhaps next time you stay, Lorato will have a young one to remind you of your first unforgettable visit to Abu!

Cheers,
The Abu team

Abu is magical.
The team understand what they are doing and deliver every day.
The term "glamping" doesn't do justice to the high levels of service and luxury that are delivered by everyone there.
This was our first safari experience and it exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.
