a bit of an ‘affected’ atmosphere. Having visited approximately 15 camps over the years throughout Southern Africa, including Mashatu Tented Camp, we found the ambiance at the Main Camp to be a bit artificial. Whilst all the staff was very professional, the hospitality felt slightly contrived. Perhaps this was due to a visit from the Vice President of Botswana. Regardless, we had a very nice stay due to the guiding and game viewing. Our guide and tracker (Rogers and Gomes) were superb in every way. From their tracking and guiding skills, to knowledge of flora and fauna they carefully listened to our interests, shared their expertise and good humour, and did their best to meet our interests. They delivered in a spectacular manner, from baobab sunsets to observing amazing animal behavior.
The grounds are lovely. The Discovery Room is truly a museum worth a visit – take the time to linger and learn. The room furnishings are tasteful, and the rooms have a very functional layout.More
