Well ditto what all the other recent reviews have said. It really is that good. This place surpasses all expectations - room quality, comfort and size, staff, food, game viewing, etc. This place sets such a high bar for any other camp! Our guide Gwist was so informed, such a good tracker. It was fascinating to watch him monitor the game tracks in the roadway and find the big cats. We saw so much game, including watching a lioness stalk a wildebeest.

We were there in early June. It was very cool in the morning and pleasant during the day. Open vehicle game drives in the morning need gloves, a hat and a warm coat; layers are important because it will warm up.

This property has very comfy game drive vehicles. There is plenty of room for long legs and big feet. On game drives, blankets are provided and you can get a hot water bottle in the morning.

This is a Desert and Delta property; they have an excellent formula for pleasing their guests. Can't do better for a savannah ecosystem (lots of predators) than staying here.

Room Tip: Try to book a room with a view of the waterhole/channel.

Not many words... This place is just amazing! The elephants drink water just in front of the rooms, excellent game viewing: we spotted lions and leopards and our guide Baba was very nice!

Savuti Safari Lodge was our first stop on a 10 day safari through Botswana and set the bar very, very high. The Lodge is beautiful and incrdibly, situated on the Savuti Channel. We had elephants outside our cabin 24/7; other game were plentiful, as well. Our Cabin was extremely comfortable with every amenity needed. Staff and management worked hard and succeeded brilliantly in making sure guests were happy and feeling very at home. The food was also amazing. Overall this was a perfect experience.

Savute Safari Lodge is for you if you want to feel valued as a guest, eat the most amazing meals, view wildlife at an arm's length, sleep and rest in plush accommodations, and have a vacation of a lifetime. If not, skip it.

Seriously, this lodge is perfection, and the entire staff including Michelle, M.C., Arnold and Candy made us feel so welcome and appreciated. The rooms are large with huge private decks overlooking the river teaming with elephants and impalas. You'll be greeted with warm fragrant hand-towels to refresh yourself from your travels and a nice quenching drink.

The game drives are spectacular and we highly recommend both Harrison and Metal as trackers and guides. You'll be up early in Savute, 6am and out in the bush by 7am to see a plethora of wildlife including leopards, lions, giraffes, elephants and so much more. Game drives are followed by very ample and fresh lunches, a siesta, tea at 3pm and another game drive at 3:30. You'll mingle with other guests for your sundowner at 5:30 or so and then more cocktails back at the lodge and a fabulous dinner, replete with African dancing and singing at 7:30. Dinner is followed by African T.V.—specifically a roaring bonfire next to the Savute channel which teams with elephants all night long.

A five plus star experience worth every penny. This is a gem of a resort owned by Desert and Delta.

Room Tip: Note, you will need to be escorted both at dusk and dawn to and from your room due to roaming wildlife so that could have a bearing on where you want to be located.

Desert and Delta maintains a high standard throughout their camps. Special about Savute was their excellent host couple Michelle and MC, their dedicated guides (thanks Baba!) and last but not least the superb lodge itself. Viewing game at night during dinner just meters away -- unforgettable. Seing the return of the resident Hippo after 30 years of Hippo absence --- marvelous!
