Best way to spend 2 hours! I'm lucky to see whales in Walker Bay on a daily basis from De Kelders but there is something entirely magical about being able to observe these magnificent marine creatures in the own habitat. The captain and crew are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly which makes for a wonderful, educational experience. Small groups allow for personal attention and movement aboard - great for photographers looking for the perfect shot. A memorable and joyous adventure for old and young alike, family, solo or for a romantic trip for two. If you are visiting the Stanford/Gansbaai area, this is a must!

Whale watching by boat is an amazing experience, and something that should be on your bucket list. We had a great morning with the Ivanhoe crew - even though the wind was blowing quite hard, which did make the sea quite choppy and difficult to spot the whales. But we were not disappointed, and our skipper found a small group of whales - where we spent time watching them frolick and play. We also had the opportunity to see a Mom and new baby from a distance - however we left them alone. On our way back to the harbour, we were privileged to enjoy a great show by a lone brindle male, who entertained us with his spectacular lobtailing and could hear his slapping on the water. What was great was that even though we had to get back to harbour for the next trip that was planned, the skipper did not rush us as we watched the spectacular lobtailing display.

Amazing 2 and a bit hours watching the whales. Crew very friendly and helpful with lots of information about the whales and dolphins we saw. Small group size made the experience even better. Definitely worth the trip on from Hermanus to Gansbai to go whale watching with Ivanhoe.

Just today, me and my husband went on a sea safari with Ivanhoe and we're both very very pleased! Not only was the whale viewing great (we saw the whales up close, breaching and diving, it was absolutely amazing), the staff and the crew was awesome too! Very pleasant to deal with and keen to share cool info about the whales. All on all, highly recommend:)
