Perfect stop on our way from Kruger to Johannesburg. Beautiful site, excellent restaurant, very kind people, very tastefull room decoration, really luxury. A pity that we we had to leave early to catch our flight.

Accommodation was fantastic; questions before the trip were handled efficiently and friendly - we liked the staff even before we arrived !
Felt like home away from home - finishes and equipment in the cottage were great !
A Fantastic treat - great time for family to re-connect and spend relaxed time together; trout fishing was fun and well managed ! Our expectation were met and exceeded - will definitely repeat this type of weekend - nice central location between Lowveld and Jo'burg

This was the first time i have made use of the cottage accommodation and I must say it was 5 star. The fishing in the well stocked dams was also exceptional. The meals on offer of either the set menu or ale cart where outstanding with great wine selection on offer as well

Two couples stayed in one of the well equipped "Self Catering" units, what a pleasure!! The unit was very clean, well located with beautiful views of valley, mountains and lakes. Self guided walking trails between the lakes, river and waterfall with plenty viewpoints to rest if needed. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Looked like ALL Self Catering units are well equipped and located.

Arriving at the Estate, the first impression was very good: beautiful landscape, peaceful setting, nice lakes ... However this changed quickly when being greeted - or rather not - by the reception staff. No question about the journey here, just handing over the form and no smiles at all. We were shown around and told about the dinner arrangements. As there's a dining room for children under 12, the lady asked my daughters about their age. They are 17 and 19 and certainly don't look like 12. This put the lady in a bit of a dilemma, as we apparently were not deemed suitable for the "elegant" dining room. When coming to dinner, we were actually put away in a separate room - all on our own, which was quite a laugh. The service, however, was no longer funny, but simply disappointing and an utter disgrace. My vegetarian daughter was served a wrong dish - the pasta beef special which she definitely didn't order. When we politely pointed out this mistake to the waitress, she reacted in an completely unprofessional manner, annoyed and muttering that the mistake was ours.
Anyway, certainly not worth the money and the five stars.
Just to be fair: The waitress and waiter at breakfast were very nice and friendly. Sadly enough the reception was staffed with the same personnel as the day before; no change there.
A rather disappointing experience, not to be recommended if you value politeness.
