This is a lovely farm with beautiful rooms, we staid at Flufftail, and is perfect for families. I would recommend 2 to 3 nights to have some time to enjoy the farm activities and surrounds. We would certainly visit them again when looking for something peacefull in the Dullstroom area. Well worth it.

We stayed in Featherbrooke which was a beautiful restored farmhouse. It was warm and cosy, the perfect getaway for us. The staff were friendly and attentive. And we were delighted when they brought us warm fresh farm bread and home made scones. We will definately go back again.

We arrived with little expectation and found a little bit of heaven! We stayed in the one bedroomed cottage called 'Strawberry fields' which was just delightful. We had a lovely walk around the farm in the morning before going into the village of Dullstroom. When we arrived back we had freshly baked bread waiting for us which was such a surprise. It made for a delicious lunch with the cheeses and olives we had purched in Dullstroom! We were sad to leave but will definately return.

We were fortunate enough to stay at both Flufftail and Featherbrook and what a glorious few days it was. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely quaint accommodation with a location that defies belief. Not only were we able to relax by the dam in the sun; my partner read and relaxed whilst I tried my arm at both rowing and fishing (the latter was the least successful) whilst accompanied by the farm hand Dotty the dog, but we also played tennis to bring a slightly more active element to our 4 days or pure relaxation. The crow black skies at night dotted with a million stars was utterly spell binding. If I had one small criticism then this would be the intermittent DSTV reception at Featherbrook but apart from this, we absolutely loved our time at Elands Valley.

Room Tip: It's wise to have a 4 x 4 to get the the venue although we managed it reasonably comfortably in a Hyundai i10.

This was our second visit to Elands Valley (Stone Lodge) with friends - the first being in 2009. As before, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay - with 4 bedrooms (3 king size and en-suite), lounge with a fire place, kitchen with a coal stove, and verandah. The staff servicing the house was very friendly - always ensuring that the stove in the kitchen is warm and that the fire in the lounge is packed. One of the staff members delivered freshly baked bread and scones daily (as a surprise) and this went very well with the fresh trout pate made with trout fished from the trout dam in front of the lodge. However, we did notice that the upkeep of the house is slipping. A number of items hanging on the kitchen walls are grimy and full of dust. It was obvious that it has been a few years since they were cleaned.

Our en-suite bathroom was also a bit below standard, with the toilet not working properly, the shower getting blocked when you showered, the shower curtain appearing grubby, the basin taps not really providing any water when opened and the fact that the water stopped completely while showering when any other taps in the house are used. We also did not get fresh replacement towels when we left the used towels to be washed after 3 days' use.

We would certainly like to go back again in future - just hoping that the something will be done to improve maintenance.
