Dived there a while back...
Well, we gushed all over you while we were there, now we’re just putting spoken words to paper! Our stay at Rocktail was enhanced by the passion, knowledge and professionalism of Mokarran Dive Charter. Absolutely 7 *s.

More over you folk are real mensch (good solid folk)! Friendly, helpful and made everyone feel safe and secure. Thanks for sharing your world, it certainly made our stay very memorable. The Dive centre is very well equipped with good equipment. This is luxury diving as everything is taken care of. You simply arrive - with your dive card...they are strict about this and for good reason!!! No card, no dive!!!

The variety and quality of the reefs are impeccable! Best we have ever dived on, then and subsequently. At the time we had been diving for about 15 years and even now after 25 years of scuba diving, we still have the best memories from a 7 days at Rocktail and with Mokarran. Some of the highlights were the resident honeycomb moray eel, the changing colour of soft coral, seeing humpback whales, green, loggerhead and leatherback turtles, rays, both electric and marbled. We saw starfish varieties never before seen, in particular the huge blue one, talking of huge – saw the largest parrot fish todate and of course my nudibranchs [Chromodoris hamiltoni, Halgerda dichromis and the swimming Bornella Anguilla!!!!- . We were in awe of the mantis shrimp, geometric eels, devil firefish, scorpionfish and fell in love with Boris…RIP Boris....and so, so much more!

If you're going to choose to scuba diving in Southern Africa and want excellent value for money as well as dive instructor who KNOW their reefs and the inhabitants then look no further. This is a Gem to be treasured.

a wonderful diving experience in one of South Africa's most pristine and unspoilt reefs. The whole team, Clive, Michelle, Darryl and Sam were wonderful.

The refs are in excellent condition mainly due to the fact that this is exclusive diving at its best. It is very well worth the experience and we can't wait to come back.

I was so impressed with the diving at Rock Tail Bay. The team at Mokarran dive centre were incredibly friendly helpful and enthusiastic. Really professionally run and all divers were looked after and considered. As I was the only freediver on the boat I was unsure how it was going to all happen but Clive was so great as a skipper and kept an eye on us all - and accommodated my different needs making me feel completely secure and safe whilst I was diving.
The actual diving was incredible and the viz and marine life insane.
Plus I got to dive with dolphins so there can never ever be a bad day after that sentence!!!
Thank you so much to Michelle and Clive and Sam for an unforgettable few days
looking forward to coming back again soon

We have dived with the Mokarran team at Rocktail Bay a couple of time in the past. They usually do a 2 tank morning dive, with a brunch on shore between the 2 dives. Their skippers are very competent and considerate.
They are the only dive operation in the area and therefore there aren't any other boats racing around above you. They are not rushed and operate in a very relaxed atmosphere.
They are about one hours drive north of Sodwana Bay and is the most northern dive area in South Africa. Not far from Kosi Bay, Tembe Elephant Park and the Mozambique border. As tropical as you can get in South Africa.
The variation of sea life in this area, is difficult to beat anywhere in the world. You may see, whales, dolphins, various kinds of sharks, huge potato bass and all the normal coral fish in abundance. There are very few types of fish that we have not seen here in the past.
We have dived in may place in the past and in our opinion it is a better dive site than southern Mozambique.
If you haven't yet dived with Mokarran, you should definitely put it on your bucket list.
