“There's a reason this home is in the middle of "The Enchanted Circle!"”

There are houses you walk into and are immediately enveloped by the heart of the homeowner. Such is Sunrise at the dOme.
When asked how she could use such a finely furnished home as a rental, the owner Ellen simply answered that she enjoys providing hospitality. Boy, does she ever!
This one-time geodesic Dome has been transformed into a warm and inviting spread out home with finely appointed finishes and furnishings in each and every room.
There's a large dining area that will comfortably seat eight people around a wooden carved rustic-finish table. Its' east facing 6-foot picture windows frame a stunning view of the Sangre de Christo mountain range and a small grove of willow trees.
The large kitchen is equipped with nice modern appliances. It's fully stocked with any additional small appliances you might need (toaster oven; coffee pot; tea kettle) and a large selection of pots and pans; serving dishes; nice place settings and flatware. No need to bring seasonings for cooking...they're provided as well!
There's a kitchen counter bar with four comfortable stools for any additional mealtime seating that might be needed.
A small bar area has a large assortment of wine and cocktail glasses. (It wasn't until I picked one up that I realized they are plastic!) Bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon and San Pellegrino were provided to welcome us as well. A very nice touch!
The expansive great room with its' dome ceiling has three separate sitting areas: a sofa and high backed chairs around a wood burning stove; two chairs and table in front of large windows with a southern view; and the main sitting area with a large carved wood sofa and several other upholstered comfy chairs that form a grouping near a large flat screen t.v. and stereo system. If you plug in your smart device or MP3, your own music will play throughout the home, and outside as well.
There are three nicely decorated bedrooms. A loft in the dome area is accessed by a circular staircase. It's furnished with a queen bed and futon that expands into an additional double bed.
The other two large bedrooms have queen beds with designer style sheets and comforter sets. Plus a very nice chest of drawers and large closets in each so you don't have to live out of a suitcase during your stay.
The main bathroom is just gorgeous, and offers a "spa like" feeling. There's a large Jacuzzi tube; shower with two spray nozzles; and even heated towel racks. Double sinks are contained in a higher-than-normal granite counter top.
The Master bedroom has a private bath that duplicates the amenities of the main bath area (with an even LARGER Jacuzzi tube!) There's also a small kitchen that serves this area with a two-burner gas stove, full sink, refrigerator, and bar stool seating.
The outside areas of the dOme are just as comfortable and inviting as the indoors. The entryway features a built in fish pond and water feature.
A garden area with a lush green lawn is surrounded by native plant flower beds. It is centrally located with access from the dining room and the Master bedroom. An adjoining patio features a table and six chairs for outdoor entertaining. There's also a sitting area with four Adirondack chairs facing the mountain range. And another table and chairs patio area surrounded by landscaping/flowers on the south side of the home.
Just to the north of the magnificent home is an elevated area with natural growth. The day of our arrival, local craftsmen were finishing a three foot wide wooden, gently rising stairway that curves up to the top of the rise. And there awaits an observation deck with built in seating. The perfect place to view the enchanting sunrises or sunsets.
The grounds also contain lots to explore: apple trees; a creek; a horse coral; and large sheltering and shading trees.
Our two day visit just wasn't long enough to truly enjoy this special place. I hope to visit again for an even longer vacation.
Sunrise at the dOme has everything you'd ever want to enjoy the spirit of the Taos area.

“A+ In Every Aspect - There Is No Better Property In Taos”

My wife, 2 dogs and I are finishing a 7 day stay at The dOme. It is perfect in every way, fantastic accommodations!

Gourmet kitchen, surround sound in every room powered by mobile phone, spectacular views, roomy, light and airy!

The owners personality and love is obvious in every room and square foot of the home. There is nothing to want for, the house if fully stocked and ready for anyone to have a marvelous time. Every imaginable appliance, tool, pot and pan in the kitchen. Bathroom fully stocked with plenty of soft warm towels.

Trust me when I tell you that what you see advertised does not give the property justice! It is much much more!

Thank you Ellen for showing us such a good time!

“Great Place in Taos”

Great house, great location, perfect weekend trip. The Dome is in a central location a short drive to the ski resort and town. The house is furnished with everything you need. We did not know what to expect since this was our first time in Taos but found an idea place to stay and will return again.
