Madikwe game reserve is not the most famous in SA but it is great.
The lodge is African style, you feel at home for your stay. Staff, both for lodge and rangers, is very kind and efficient. You will definitely have an awesome stay there. Formula as in most of such lodges is all inclusive, food and drinks are tasteful and different every day.
The rooms offer all confort you might wish, are well furnished.
At night time you have to be accompanied to go to your room as in most of lodges (and as it looks that a leopard has been found at night time on the path. Legend ?).
Be aware that when weather is rainy, significant number of the reserve’s road are closed limiting movements in the park and making the bush thicker (more difficult to find animals). However general game is abundant and you might see anyway elephants, girafes, lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, rhinos, etc.....
Therefore, I advise people to check weather and reserve conditions before going there.

We are a family of four (two teens, two adults) and we spent three nights in Madikwe
Gorgeous rooms and views
Very nice staff (guide, waiter, cleaning lady)
Food is good
A lot of elephants, zebras, impalas, rhinos
Have in mind however lions look tired…
The only negative thing is the swimming pool which was very dirty, and the weather which was rainy in Febuary

This is the second stay here at the Lelapa Lodge - it was wonderful the first time but even better the second time.
The staff were fantastic - polite, courteous and very attentive to our needs.
Our guide Mitchell is a credit to the More Group - he is extremely knowledgeable and a very polite young man.
I would recommend this lodge to my family and friends. It’s the place to stay and relax - and see all the wonderful animals and birds that Madikwe Game Reserve has to offer.

The More group at Madikwe do create to inspire.

My wife and I and our young son spent 4 fantastic days here last month. It is not cheap but worth every penny. The accommodation, food and staff are fantastic and in Gerhard,we had the most superb guide we could have hoped for. I can recommend the Safari Lodge without any hesitation.

This was my fifth safari in South Africa but my first not in Kruger National. Medikwe was a much better gaming experience than I had expected and in fact was one of the best! The rangers were friendly, knowledgeable and top notch and the safaris were always fruitful. In two days we saw the Big 5 and got into a couple unique sightings. The lodging was a superb experience with GREAT rooms, spectacular views, and good staff.

Room Tip: If you want to with more people than stay in the Lelapa Lodge (12 rooms) since that's where the main pool is. If you prefer seclusion then the other lodges of Kopano and Dithaba (4 rooms each) are for you. The rooms are the same and each lodge has their own dining room and Boma.
