We highly enjoyed our first stay in Madikwe at Thakadu River Camp. Our overall experience at the Camp exceeded our expectations by far. The General Manager Patience, Modiegi and their entire team were very charming and attentive.
The beautiful setting and pristine condition of the Camp, its tranquillity and excellent food make us want to come back soon.
Not only is the setup incredibly comfortable in a beautiful setting, but the friendly staff, delicious food and snacks, knowledgeable rangers, and all the COVID measures made our experience so much more than we could have asked and hoped for. HIGHLY recommended!
The entire experience from arrival, breakfast/ lunch/ dinner/ game drives and all round hospitality was superb.
The hotel staff was always kind and helpful with every request.
The game ranger was knowledgeable and provided great banter on the drive.
Staff were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were good and comfortable. We had some good animal sightings, lots of Elephants. The food however was below average and really needs addressing. More food options need to be available for lunch and dinner.
The location is great and you can view lots of wildlife from the deck and from your tent. The service was exceptional and the meals really good. We had children who swam in the pool. The only downside was the size of the extra beds for the children (The sleeper couch was to narrow to accommodate two children). I would recommend the lodge and would consider going back.
