As a party of 2 vegans and 1 vegetarian, we are used to food options at most destinations being extremely limited. We expected this going to a game reserve most of all. Kings Camp exceeded our wildest expectations in this as in every other way, with really excellent vegan options available at every meal and even vegan treats waiting in our room on our arrival! Just tell them you are vegan when you book and they will go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay.

In every other respect, our stay was also wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff, a stunning setting, with wild animals wandering through the camp down to a waterhole with a hide right next to it and of course fantastic rangers and trackers making sure every game drive is an experience to remember. We had an amazing time and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Room tip: Make sure you let them know any food preferences etc when booking - they will go the extra mile to accommodate.

A trip of a lifetime! General managers Warren and Lisha, Our ranger Grant and our tracker Goodman, Hayley and all of the staff at Kings Camp made the trip everything and more. We saw all big Five and so much more. We learned about nature, birds, reptiles, plants, animal behaviors, etc. We were blessed with hot water bottles and blankets for morning game drives. Then we had bush mixtures, coffee, Amarula and hot chocolate during the drive. Can't forget the dried mango. We were greeted every morning to the most beautiful sunrise. 5:30am wake calls did not seem all that bad. Breakfast was anything you wanted. If you wanted a croissant, best to eat it quick because the monkeys love croissants and sugar packets. On the first day we did a walking safari after breakfast. We had lunch and then it was time for the evening game drive. We were so close to animals. Five lions walked right past our Landrover. We drove through the bush, we saw animals at night, we saw a leopard in a tree with its impala, we saw a herd of elephants, baby elephants, rhinos, zebra, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, hyenas, birds, birds of prey, kudos, impala, etc. We had most dinners in the Boma - an outside area with a fire pit and delicious food. We also were treated to a surprise bush breakfast. In total we did 7 game drives - they never get old. The evening game drives had beautiful sunsets and clear skies with clear views of all the stars. There is even a hide where you can watch animals at the water hole at the camp. All of the staff could not have been nicer, more helpful. I hope I am lucky enough to stay there again. If I could give it more stars I would. Loved it.

We spent 3 weeks traveling to camps in Namibia , South Africa and Botswana. While all the camps were fantastic,Kings Camp stands out in our whole trip. From the beauty of the place , to the accommodation, the food, and all of the staff. They were warm and extremely helpful and accommodating. Our guide Lina was outstanding. I kept saying to my husband “ I feel like I’ve been to school for the past 3 days” I couldn’t have learned more or enjoyed it more. Kings Camp truly is an outstanding experience.

My family and my trip to King's Camp exceeded all our expectations. The rooms and grounds were beautiful with wildlife walking in and around the property. Staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. The food-- especially the boma-- was delicious and the staff was able to easily accommodate my gluten-free dietary restriction during meals and snacks during our game drives.

Grant and Goodman-- our guides for our game drives-- were super friendly, knowledgable, and fun. It was clear they enjoyed their work and know the area and the wildlife very well. On the game drives, I could not believe how close were able to get to all type of animals while still respecting the animals' space.

I'll never forget my experience at King's Camp and will highly recommend a stay at King's Camp to anyone planning a trip to South Africa.

Room tip: Highly recommend two game drives a day to maximize opportunities to see a variety of wildlife!

Everything was first-class from the spacious and impeccably designed rooms, delicious food (including the best baked goods and desserts) and hotel amenities - amazingly comfortable vehicles, a great spa, and beautifully decorated buildings. They provide a seamless travel experience getting to and from the Camp. The twice - daily game drives were incredible (and included food and beverages). But beyond all this, the staff, lead by Warren and Lisha provide world-class hospitality with a truly personal touch. They encourage their guests to gather at mealtime and compare stories. Our guide, Cynet and tracker, Sonny Boy took the best care of us and relentlessly used their skills and resources to ensure we saw every possible animal. And see them we did! Lions (including a rare white one), leopards, a cheetah, wild dogs, hyena, giraffes, elephants, rhino and hippos. Cynet could tell us anything we wanted to know about each animal and really got in close, while respecting the animals. Best vacation we ever had.
