We stayed for 5 nights at this lovely camp. Staff and rangers were great, the room wonderful with "Out of Africa" decor and a big roll top bath. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the quality of the food. The meals were of good standard but something just fell short off what I expected. Maybe for lunch it was a little fussy. It may have been better to offer a light buffet or a choice of lighter lunch meals. The main meal in the evening is one night in the restaurent and the next night having a boma buffet. As we were staying for 5 nights having 2 of them as a buffet meal I did not enjoy. You also have to decide what you would like to eat when you leave for the evening drive which is a choice of 2 starters and 3 mains. They also have a strange choice of of offering smoothies with lunch.
The game viewing was good, the ranger knowledgeable but the range to view and drive felt a bit limited - I assume that cross boundary arrangements are limited compared to other safaris we have done.
The managers were welcoming and have done a god job at Kings Camp but for us, it fell shy of 5 stars we were experienced at other camps and were expecting.

Thank you for the lovely review of Kings Camp. Your feedback is invaluable to us in constantly assessing our service levels. The reason for the additional option of smoothies served at lunch is for the exact reason of offering something lighter and healthy to those that just cant fit in three large meals per day. We will definitely consider your points mentioned. Take care, Warm Regards Warren and Lisha

Although we just left Savanna after a 4 night outstanding stay, Kings Camp was also a pleasure to stay at. The elephants mating as an excuse for a breakfast out in the bush was so great! We hope to return to South Africa next year - it was amazing. Everyone we know thought we were nuts for going with the Ebola outbreak and a bad impressions of Africa but it was probably the best vacation of our lives and everyone was so nice. We were there for 3 weeks and also in Zambia so have a lot of reviews to write!!!

The whole team at Kings Camp were welcoming, friendly and caring and nothing was too much trouble.
The room was excellent and the outdoor shower was wonderful. The food was great and the safaris were great.
All in all a lovely place to stay and experience South Africa.
I recommend the massages - just wonderful!

Amazing staff and delightful rooms set the tone from the start. The vehicles were really comfortable and the Rangers were great with the never ending questions from our children. It was great to know animals nipped through the camp and added to the excitement were many animals at the waterhole nearby. We were delighted to see leopard as well as the rest of the big 5. My favourite is still the giraffe....who made an appearance!
We shared our evening dinner table with lovely guests and loved hearing about their experiences as they had had a longer stay.
All round we felt pampered and privileged to stay in such a great place.

Room tip: Ours had a little waterhole bt it which attracted animals which was fun

my wife and myself spent five nights here in january 2015. The stay was part of a four week holiday.
We also visited Sabi and Madikwe reserves. As with our stay at Londolozi at Sabi what sets Kings Camp apart is the guiding and tracking. Our guide, Dean, went out of his way to give people the best safari experience. He contacted the owner of some private land adjoining Kings Camp so that we could see white lion which had settled there. The tracker was also superb. Once, being dropped off, he spent half an hour tracking cheetah on foot before radioing back to the jeep that he had found one, providing another great safari experience. The accommodation is roomy rather than out and out luxurious but still of a high standard. The food can be a bit hit and miss. Most of the time excellent but the occasional lapse. All in all an excellent stay in a rather beautiful reserve.
