A completely perfect trip. Our expectations were exceeded by far. The staff is incredibly warm. The spa treatments were very relaxing and professional. The romantic dinner for two by the fireplace was an absolute surprise and highlight. The food was equally perfect and delicious! The game drives with Andre, Nicholas, and Sipho were also incredibly impressive. We saw all the Big 5 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you don't stay at Simbavati River Lodge, you'll be missing out.

The entire experience was fantastic. The staff, food, accomodations, and game drives were all exceptional. Wild life roams through the camp, so a true safari experience. We stayed in one of the tented rooms with a private pool, highly recommend as these rooms are at the back of the camp and wild life passes by daily.
The game drives allowed us to view animals in their natural habitat. The drives are not rushed, we spent a good amount of time watching the different animals we came up on. Some examples include: watched a leopard gut her kill, a baby rhino who had the Zoomies, baby elephants engaged in play. We saw all the Big 5 and then some. Again, a truly memorable and exceptional experience.

Room tip: Weather can change from day to day in late Oct/early Nov. Need everything from warm weather to cold (hats, gloves, scarves)

The accommodations, staff, and food were all absolutely amazing. We were able to go on game drives, enjoy the pool, and workout at their gym. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to explore the bush in South Africa.

Our family of 14 - ranging in age from 84 to 11 - visited on a long planned and much anticipated 3 day safari. Our high expectations were far exceeded. Our experience could not have been better. The common areas are beautiful, immaculately maintained and services by most friendly and efficient staff and the food high quality and nicely varied. Our rooms also were 5 star standard and most pleasant. And our safari drives were (to revert to my American roots) spectacular! Thank you Ali and Marti, our extraordinarily knowledgeable, warm and interesting rangers and Happy and Humphrey our keep-eyed and sociable tracker/spotters, we saw a huge variety of animals; all we hoped for and more. We all, everyone of us, had a great time and cannot recommend the Sambavati River Lodge and it’s excellent staff more highly.

Situated in a wonderful (big five) area and on the banks of a lively river, Simbavati River lodge offers first class game viewing combined with five star luxury in the middle of the bush. Highly recommendable.
