What a place! Stunning accomodation, setting and interior !! The food was a feast of tastes and colour!! Only downside was when we left we were uncomfortably approached by the villas cleaning lady and asked for tipping her. We, normally in such a lodge, leave gratuity for the whole lodge...... she wasnt impressed as we told her that we were doing that. As i said.... overall great experience!!

I have stayed in many places around the world and can honestly say that this is the most welcoming relaxing friendly yet professional establishment I have had the pleasure of staying at.
Add to that the game drives and amazing variety of wildlife we saw - what more could you ask for.
A big thank you to Ronel and her staff, Mike, Matt, Nick, Pete, Bonz, Prince, Anne, Gabriel to name a few - all wonderful people.

We had a three night stay with our son and all I can say is the whole experience was beyond anything we could have wished for!
The staff Mike, Matt , Obed, Bongs, Prince, Jimmy and all the staff were exceptional. Special mention to Prince who's food is some of the best we have ever eaten!!

The River Lodge is a splendid enclave of rustic luxury, wildlife and fine dining. The accommodations are separate homes or villas. The rooms are spacious and have an air of elegant Africa. Our room had a gorgeous clawfoot tub with a glass shower with a view of the wildlife. The king bed was comfortable. the room also had a spacious living area and a separate area configured for private dining upon request. The wildlife was unrivaled. We saw the big five and beyond with ease and just the right touch of adventure. the food was perfection. The staff and chef cooked our dietary request /vegan with the skill of a five star hotel. we loved this place.

We visited the Thorny-bush River Lodge in September. The accommodations were way over the top of what we had anticipated. The lodge was perfectly decorated in a mix of rustic but elegant. The staff was very friendly and professional. Our guide James and tracker, Abed were extremely knowledgeable and fun. They made our visit interesting and educational.
We saw all of the Big Five and much more.
We would recommend this Safari to any small group or family as it was quaint and in an intimate setting.
