Camping in well equiped tents direclty next to the Manyaleti game reserve. Everything is available in the tents: shower, toilet, bed, couches, enough sockets,... You can hear the sounds of nature at night. Central area with pool, bar and boma. Friendly and helpful staff, nice welcome. Possibility to do a bush walk or game drive.

We spent 2 nights at this lodge as part of a G Adventures tour of Southern Africa. The accommodation was in the safari tents which was an interesting experience. On the plus side it was cosy and comfortable in the beds and the exposed-to-the-elements bathroom area was large and spacious with a great shower, the only minor downside was the lack of floor space in the bedroom which was a little cramped and really only had room for the twin/double bed and two side tables, it was also very cold indeed on the nights we stayed, meaning we slept in many layers and really did need the big duvet and blankets provided. It is awesome, however, to be able to hear the lions roaring outside and the hyenas barking and for that reason I would definitely choose to stay in the tents again.

The staff at the lodge were great, especially 'Shorty' in the bar. Service was always friendly and the food was good (we had all buffet or BBQ style), we also liked the way the tables were laid out in the round area in front of the bar, exposed to the elements which meant amazing stars at night whilst eating dinner and a firepit to keep us warm despite the chill once the sun has dropped. The pool is small and I don't think any of our group used it, but the bar area is welcoming and the Safari tours you can do from the lodge are fabulous, we did both the evening and morning game drives and loved them. We saw 4 of the big 5 on our very first drive in Manyeleti!

A big shout out to the staff for re-opening the office for me to pay on our final night - through crossed wires we had not been and paid our bill and only realised this after everyone else had been and done theirs, but the staff were very helpful and re-opened the office for us late at night.

Shalati Adventure Lodge at Manyeleti South Gate | Hluvukani and Nationaal Park Kruger. It is a good location for game drives and bush walks with Echo Africa Safari's. The guides were excellent.

The complex is momentarily extended with beautiful safari tents and a new pool area for exclusive groups.

We had to stay in the outdated cottages with the old pool. Electrical wiring in the cottage was to old and gave problems. Management presented different accommodation.

Room tip: If you book: book only the safari tents, NO COTTAGES!

On a very spontaneous trip to Kruger Park we came across Shalati Adventure Lodge. Me and my friend slept in one of their clean and comfy tented chalets and had a pretty good time.
The staff of Shalati Lodge was very helpful and nice. They offered their tours through Shalati Reserve without selling them and gave great advice as we decided to drive through Kruger on our own. They also offered proper food (although a bit fat) and more importantly, they offered lots which is important to a notoriously hungry person like me. Last but not least, they tried hard to make us feel at home and stayed up to socialize and were interested in us as travelers. Their knowledge about the local wildlife was also amazing.
I would definitely recommend this place, also because the location is pretty good, as the lodge is close to Kruger and Shalati Park.

Room tip: Haven't seen the rooms but the chalets were new and clean with a nicely done private shower.
