Magical!

Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve is a most fantastic place to visit! From the moment we arrived we were constantly in awe. To start, the staff are very welcoming and always making sure you have whatever you need. The villas are luxurious. Very comfortable king size bed, living rooms, large bathroom a deck and my favorite, outside showers (also inside showers). The staff and guides, Heinrich, Johan, Hugo and Stu are all incredibly nice people, who also happen to be very knowledgeable about animals. It is also very evident they all really appreciate and respect the animals, which is endearing. The game drives were wonderful. This was our first experience on Safari and it could not have been a better start. We saw the Big 5 in one day and then expanded to see an incredible amount of other animals, including cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, etc. It was a sensory overload of incredible animals in their natural habitat.
And, the food was superb! From the dinners in the boma to the private dinner in the room, we could not have asked for more.
We will go back and recommend if you are reading this, that you should go ahead and make the reservation.

We stayed 3 nights the first week of November in Room 8. We are well travelled over the last 20 years but Leopard Hills might be the most amazing place we have ever stayed. The room overlooking the bush veld and watering hole was beautiful and exactly as pictured on their website. We could watch George, the resident hippo aas well as impala, buffalo and lions from our deck as they visited the watering hole. The staff at Leopard Hills are so friendly and helpful that I don't even know how to describe how pleasant they were. They made you feel like they had known you for a long time, always calling you by your first name. Two that stood out to us were Neville and Steve, but all were great. The owner, Duncan, and reception staff, Tammy, were clearly intent that you were having a great experience and that the lodge and game drives were meeting your expectations. They were very conversational and educational and enjoyable. The food is plentiful and you will not go hungry. The pace of your day is up to you but the schedule for the game drives, breakfast, lunch and dinner allows you anywhere from 2 – 2hr breaks to simply relax in your room or deck or up to 6 hours to do as you wish. I really wish we had scheduled at least two more days.

The game drives are obviously the main reason for going to Leopard Hills and these far exceeded our expectations. Hugo and Mowell were wonderful and on our first morning drive we saw all of the “Big 5”! Hugo was absolutely wonderful and educational telling us about each animal and their behavior and how the entire ecosystem of the bush land worked. He was humorous and always answered questions. Watching him and Mowell interact when tracking a leopard or the cheetah we found was fascinating. They clearly enjoyed what they do and were intent on giving their guests the best experience possible. I would strongly recommend Leopard Hills, without any reservation to anyone considering a safari trip and hope that we might be able to return some day.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking watering hole have amazing views. We were in Room 8

High praise indeed, and so appreciated from all of the Team here at the Lodge. Coming from such well traveled people as yourselves, really motivates the Team to continue doing what they love doing day in and day out.

We hope to see you back with us soon, to carry on the experience from where you left off. In the meantime, take care and blessings from all the Leopard Hills Family.

My wife and I have been to high end hotels/resorts all over the world and hands down Leopard Hills is most fantastic place we have ever stayed. I don't even know where to begin. From the moment our guide picked us up at the airport to the the time he dropped us off (and waited for us to board the plane), we received the most impeccable service from the entire staff. There are only 8 cabins (16 guests) and there is over 60 staff! The staff become your friends.

The food is fantastic. If there is nothing on the menu that you want, the chef will make you almost anything on earth. Not questions asked. BTW, you might enjoy a monkey or two

The game drives are something that is unforgettable. Leopard Hills has gorgeous open Landrovers that have been modified to fit 6 people in a stadium seating configuration. Our guide, Hugo, was beyond fantastic. He knew an amazing amount about each animal that we saw, super funny, answered all the questions we asked and simply loved his job (and my wife says he is really good looking!). Hugo did his very best to make sure we saw every animal possible in the bush. During each drive, we would take a 20 minute break and the guide and tracker would set up a full bar with cocktails, wine, beer and snacks.

When my wife and I returned to our cabin following our evening game drive on our last night, the staff surprised us flowers all over our bed, a bubble bath with champagne, and a 4-5 course dinner in our room. Keep in mind, this was not our honeymoon.

Its just a fantastic place that I cannot recommend more highly.

Room tip: There is a chance in any of the rooms that will have visitors (animals) come up to your deck and private plunge pool. By visitors,

Where to start . . . We stayed at Leopard Hill from October 4-7, 2017. We had the most wonderful experience. Staff is top notch. Too many people to name and thank in a small amount of words. Stuart and Congive were the best guide and tracker. We had a great time with them. We learned a lot about the animals and land. Our viewings were outstanding. We saw everything we wanted to see and then some. Our stops during the drives were fun. Accommodations at the lodge were first class. The rooms were so large and beautiful, with every thought and need met. Meals were outstanding. By the time we left the lodge, I felt like I was leaving family. Duncan and his staff really make you feel like you are part of the Leopard Hill Family. Thank you Leopard Hills Lodge for making my dream safari come true. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I have been reviewing for 10 years and this by far has been the best experience we have had.
From the time we arrived until we departed we were completely looked after. After self-driving from Johannesburg we were met with cold towels, a smile and a champagne. We ended up staying 3 nights and had a ball seeing wildlife up front and personal. What I liked about Leopard Hills was that it was in the lower Kruger so malaria risk is low, it’s a private reserve and best of all our patronage supports the continued protection of animals with the anti-poaching units, hires locals to work in the park and supports local communities health and education initiatives.

Our guide JOHAN was simply brilliant. His knowledge and experience of the park was unbelievable and we could of listened to him for hours as he passionately spoke about the animals. He was patient and fun to be with and was never in a rush to get around the park. Everyone appreciated his approach and we all felt we had the best guide along with the best tracker Walter.

The villa's are great and we would highly recommend Leopard Hills for a truly wonderful safari experience and be prepared to be pampered and well looked after by a team of dedicated professionals.

This is sincerely a humbling Review, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this, and the fact you have been Reviewing over 10 years, makes us even more proud.

I am very pleased you have pointed out the link between the Lodge, Reserve, and the Local Communities, as they are so "interlinked", and one could not operate without the other. Our commitment to Local Community Development is built into our ethos, and we hope to change many lives for the better going forward.

Johan and Walter send their Regards to you.

Best Wishes from the Leopard Hills Team.

My husband an I recently had the good fortune to stay at Leopard Hills on the first nights of our safari. Beautiful accommodations with great animal viewing right off of our deck. The food is wonderful with some dinners in the dining room and some in the Boma for variety. Nice choices for breakfast as well. The rangers and guides are very knowledgeable. The staff are all very friendly and most accomodating. We couldn't have asked for more!
