Since we arrive to the lodge, all the staff give us a very charming welcome. We enjoy a lot to be there, the suites are amazing, food was perfect, game drives was very surprising at any moment!! and we had a very pleasure first time Safari. You need to understand that from the bar of the lodge or the dinner after the game drive, with a couple of friends that you may just meet. Recommend 100% !

There aren't enough stars on the planet to give Notten's the rating they deserve. We loved everything about Notten's and getting to know our guide was the best part of all. Seeing the Big 5 (and much more!) was a fun and exciting experience and the food and service was spectacular. During our 20 days in South Africa we spent time at other much more expensive places and we would not hesitate to pick Notten's again and again. If you are concerned about Covid, all activities (including meals) are outdoors and we felt comfortable and safe at all times. Vaccinations are really ramping up in SA and even though we were a bit nervous about traveling (due to both Covid and recent unrest), it turned out to be the perfect timing for travel. Could not recommend Notten's highly enough! Oh, and Moses -- your crazy Texas family misses you so much! YEE HAW!

I've visited other Sabie lodges which may be more 'upmarket' (do you need all of that on safari?) but none come close to Nottens family touch, genuine friendlyness (read not put-on) and excellent food. Nottens owner (Dave Notten) serves drinks at the bar every night and chats to guests as if he's known them for years.
Our accommodation faced an open bush area with a water a hole so many, many game were viewed from our bungalow.
They put on a braai (bbq) one night deep in the bush for all guests and a staff member put on a show mimicking animal saounds. Absolute joy.
We didnt see the big 5, buy hey that's safari for you but Nico our driver/guide was excellent and his knowledge of trees, birds and animals is remarkable. We can't wait to return to Nottens.

A group of us recently went to Nottens Bush Camp. I would recommend this place without reservations! The service was excellent, the staff always attentive and accommodating and the food was second to none. Special thanks to our guides who made this bucket list a truly memorable experience. The rooms were well maintained and a great place to relax. We saw not only the Big 5 but Cheetah and Hippos as well. We learned later after going to other countries in Africa on this trip, how lucky we were to be in Sabi Sands. Being private area within Kruger National Park allowed many off road adventure to find the elusive creatures. I would also recommend that you visit this time of year (winter) - no mosquitoes, better weather and better ability to see the various animals.

My family (myself, my husband, and four adult children) spent an amazing four nights at Notten's! We were picked up at Skukuza airport by Notten's staff and actually encountered several animals on our drive to the camp. We had a total of eight game drives where we saw everything - The Big Five, The Little Five, The Ugly Five, and lots of other animals and birds. We even saw the Wild Dogs on our last morning, Our driver/guides Jeff and Keenan worked hard to show us all of the game. We also participated in some of the late morning bush walks where we encountered animal tracks and learned extra facts about the animals and their habits. The rooms were lovely and comfortable with an outdoor shower and a warm bath waiting for us after our evening game drive. All of the food and drinks were delicious and served in a friendly and family atmosphere. We also enjoyed some of the specialty wines out of David's cellar. So thanks to all - David, Dale, Jim, Jenn, Gift, Jeff, Keenan, Solani, Midion, Joe, and Kim (excuse the spelling) and all others who made our time in South Africa so special! I would highly recommend Notten's Bush Camp for a perfect safari vacation.
