Description: Cavalli’s approach to cuisine can be described as ‘modern, nature inspired cuisine’, inspired by a focus on our heritage as it draws upon the landscapes, flora and fauna of Southern and Continental Africa. The menu seeks to take diners on a gastronomic journey, touching on points of nostalgia paired with an expertly crafted local and international wine list, artisanal cocktail, craft beer and a notable selection of single malt whiskeys. Herbs and a selection of vegetables on the menu are grown in the Estate's self sustained heirloom garden. The restaurant is set to establish itself as a premier fine dining destination locally and internationally and is now open for lunch and dinner 4 days a week, Wednesday through Saturday for relaxed, generous Bistro lunch and Fine-Dining Dinner and Sunday Fine-Dining Lunch.

We really enjoyed our trip back to Cavalli for a lazy sunday afternoon lunch on the deck overlooking the dam. Winter menu was tasty and well presented, with a good selection of wine by the glass. Service attentive and friendly. Great option in the area.

Picture perfect setting, excellent service and fabulous food and wine. The bobotie wontons were utterly delicious. Most of us had the linefish with squid ink risotto which was cooked to perfection. Don't skip dessert. There are many tempting options. The almond glazed chocolate tart and the peppermint semi freddo were the favourites. The wine tasting is also a must. We worked our way through eight exquisite wines. The labels, all horse related, are beautiful.

What more can you ask for a birthday lunch than this ??
The food was simply spectacular, a symphony of well orchestrated flavors , both starters and main courses which we all shared. The pulled pork canneloni ( what an astounding creation ) on par with the pickled sea bass.
The chicken main course, as well as the duck were beautifully presented with their condiments and subtle flavours which let the distinctive meat flavours of both dishes come through. Outstanding!! and so was the non-sugar and gluten free desert.at the end.
Service was unobtrusive and very attentive , and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and made some very interesting pairing suggestions.

Prevously the "word on the street" was that you shouldn't go to Cavalli hungry as the portions were small. That's clearly a thing of the past. Our starters of cured sea bass were quite adequate and our mains of duck breast left little room for deserts.
The setting is very picturesque and the service was good without being over attentive.
Our meal was perfectly accompanied by the Cavalli Rose. Even the weather was good as we ate outside on a windless blue skied Cape winter day.
