We popped in for dinner one evening, and were pleasantly surprised. The menu offers a good choice of dishes and the food was good although the wine list was limited. The restaurant has a great view of the lake, but the furniture and decor could be upgraded. Service was a bit slow, and we waited a long time for both drinks and food.

Stayed: January 2016

Wow, we were not expecting all this! Enormous clean fresh and sunny rooms which are actually apartment size with a huge bedroom ensuite, a large lounge with French doors to a private terrace overlooking the gardens and lake! Two bathrooms!!!! This is the most opulent space we have ever encountered and would seriously love to live here permanently!! Rim flow pool and a well run bistro are the cherry on the top!

We were overwhelmed with Suite 8 described as a one bedroom suite - a huge lounge/diner/kitchenette in one room and through to bedroom and en suite, both rooms with doors to balcony overlooking lake. Everything required was provided and in some comfort. Restaurant was a bit slow but heh we are on holiday and on Africa time. We smiled as a lady laid into a waiter complaining her snoeck fish had bones in it!
Conveniently just off N2, not far from Kynsna, peaceful and we felt spoilt for the price.

Room Tip: Ask for Suite 8 or similar

Excellent all round except for food at dinner, which was very mediocre. I thought the suites were excellent and included everything you could possibly need. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is good for either Sedgefield or Knysna, with Wildernis not far away.

We stayed in the Villas on the hotel property and it was lovely. They are spacious and clean and well maintained. Each villa has it's own splash pool which is a plus. The only big disappointment about this hotel is the restaurant. The breakfast is included in your stay but the service is dreadful. If you are eating from the buffet it is fine, but if you order eggs from the kitchen it can take up to 30 minutes. We did complain but not much was done about it. The speciality coffees also took a very long time to arrive.

Room Tip: The villas are perfect for families
