What a super place to visit, we were certainly made feel very special arriving as guests and leaving as friends, we will definitely be visiting again. The new owner (only two weeks) is making some great improvements to modernise the property. It is well situated for wine tasting visits which we did using the wine safari bus which is very reasonable.

We recently stayed at your guest house for the long weekend. Unfortunately our experience did not live up to expectations.

Upon arrival there was no one at reception to greet us. After walking around we bumped into someone whom we had to ask for help regarding checking in. Our room was satisfactory though could do with a revamp. The food was a sore point. Your website boasts that your restaurant offers ‘excellent cuisine’. The bobotie meal was good however the risotto was inedible and we had to send it back and order a toasted sandwich instead as there was no other vegetarian option available for my partner.

After the first night we noticed that there was a stain on the duvet and the kettle lid was broken. On top of this, we were not told ahead of time that there were going to be renovations happening the entire weekend. This limited our privacy as workers were constantly walking up and down. The power tools of the workmen also resulted in multiple electricity outages on Monday morning.

Lastly, the etiquette of the staff detracted from our experience. Staff shouting at each other in the kitchen and from the reception area was very distracting. Staff have not been trained adequately to be servicing a place that is supposedly 4-star.

We were told at checkout that new management is taking over and that positive changes are going to be made to the guesthouse going forward. It is not suitable to have guests pay the price for a 4 start hotel with below average service quality.

New management has an uphill battle on their hands as the current situation is doing massive reputational damage not only to the accommodation and the "new" guesthouse but to Robertson town too.

I hope you find a suitable resolution to avoid any more very disappointed patrons.

Room lacking: Proper reading lights by the bed - the bedside lights throw insufficient light on the page for for reading in bed. Hooks to hang clothes on whilst showering. The underfloor heating was welcome.

We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but just a quick drive to town when we explored!

We went for a lovely walk and thoroughly enjoyed the birds enjoying the dam during sunset each evening!

Note: There is no decaf coffee. As well as, try to choose a room further away from the restaurant as we experienced some noise.
We were sad to find that the spa wasn't open for an afternoon massage as it was a public holiday!

A lovely stay with friendly staff!

Room Tip: Don't choose room #1

Staff were very friendly, and definitely did that bit extra to make our romantic package as special as possible!
We had our small wedding lunch there and Tina and the team were very helpful!

The service can be a bit slow from the waiters, but they were very friendly!

The spa was lovely and the girls who do the treatments are very professional and take care to focus on any problem areas you have.

Beautiful setting, we hope to go back very soon as there is still so much more to do!
