Very comfortable stay whilst doing the Karoo Gravel Grinder. Spacious room beautiful garden and most importantly superb hosts. I had forgotten my helmet in Cape Town and they graciously lent me one. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay at Prince Albert Country Stay. The hosts made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They treated us with cold homemade lemonade on arrival in their beautiful country garden. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated in an old world charm style. A Scrumptious breakfast was served on the verandah with homemade toasted muesli, yogurt and fresh fruit followed by bacon and poached eggs and with some locally sourced produce. We will most certainly go back again.

Wonderful hosts and a welcome home made refreshing lemonade (best in the world). An absolute gem of a town. Lovely drive on the R62. This lovely little town has a lot to offer. Our accommodation was world class. The breakfast was absolutely superb, and the garden setting was impossibly beautiful.

May's dairy is an absolute MUST visit. Gorgeous cheese tasting, and the worlds best drinking yogurt.

Warm welcome, refreshing homemade lemonade to clear the dust from our throats. Lovely room, light, airy and sparkling clean. Wonderfully done bathroom.... What a find in Prince Albert, we would stay again.

This charming Edwardian home, which has been sensitively converted into a stylish boutique B&B, is situated in the heart of the village of Prince Albert. It is run by Colleen & William Penfold, who live on the premises and whose attention to detail, whether it's the garden, the little adjoining antique shop or the meals, makes staying there an unforgettable experience. Meals are served in the flower-scented garden, under the shade of some beautiful mature trees, where the small swimming-pool is perfect to slough off the heat of a Karoo sun-filled day. All the rooms are quiet and comfortable, with beautiful quality bedlinen. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden
