Not for nothing did this museum have a "Best museum in the W Cape" award. It is a fascinating museum covering much history as well as geology, paleontology and other aspects of the region.
Best to do this after the "Ghost walk" and then also ask the museum staff about their experiences of the ghost!

Its really just an interesting home filled with yesteryear's daily life needs. Worth the money for the entrance and some good local information for interest.

The collection of articles on display have been well presented and provide an interesting perspective of Price Albert's past. Museum staff available to give more detailed information about anything in the museum. The collection is clearly an inspiration for others to contribute.

It came as no great surprise to learn that this museum was awarded the best museum in the Western Cape as it is packed full of interesting exhibits and has certainly earned the award. The old house, formerly used as a hospital, may have creaky floorboards but that in no way detracts from the extensive collection of things on display. I found the section on the conservation of old buildings particularly interesting, whereas my husband was fascinated by the history of the building of the pass through Meiringspoort. We both enjoyed fossil collection, which is accessed externally from a door to the right of the entrance on the verandah.
Set aside enough time to do your visit justice.
